Thanks duck, where are you located?

A mate brought in a few engines and trans, I paid about $18k.

Are you still working on this project? Interested in seeing how it turns out.

Not at the moment, currently getting a business up and running. It is taking up a lot of time and money. Will hopefully start doing some work on it again in a few months.

wow, love this!

I just sold a LBZ Duramax that I bought new. GREAT engines, and you should have more power than you know what to do with!

I had an EDGE Evo tuner on mine, and was really impressed with the differences that made in both power & economy. Believe it or not, those diesels can get up to 30mpg.

So now that these diesels have been out for awhile they are starting to show up in junk yards... What are the desired years to get or stay away from? I remember when these 1st came out they had some issues I thought. It just seems like with the cost of a half cut 1HDT bringing it into the states, these might be a closer viable option. Might cost about the same theses days.

Hey Brad, any updates?

On the basis of your measurements (so it's your fault if it doesn't work ;p ) I've started my own duramax into a 100 series project. Picked up an LMM and a Allison separately, currently having a cruiser T-Case adapter to the Alli. Hope to start fitting it in the hole in the next month or so....

Brad,

Any progress as of late? We're all on pins and needles!!!!

Sorry guys, no updates. Been flat out starting up an Engineering business which has sapped all my time and money. I have taken the engine to the workshop so I can start making up some engine mounts, so I may have something done in the next couple of weeks.

Man i hope this thread dosent die, cant wait to see how the wiring goes, its a mad hobby of mine and always wanted to try something like this

Life has definitely got in the way over the past 6 months. Project is in a holding pattern at the moment due to the new business. I have just removed the engine and trans from my daily drive 80 Series and will endeavour to use it to mock up the engine and trans soon for mounting brackets etc.

Brad, wanna make me up a set too bro? Just down the road from ya and i've just done me 1FZFE. Guys around perth want a little too much for a rebuild and was once again looking down this path.

How do you reckon the stock tranny would hold up in regard to this (ie the manual)

Get back to me man. PS merry christmas and hope you didn't get up to too much strife in NB or the cas ;)

Sorry for the late reply and happy New Year to all. Once I've made up a set of brackets and everything is sitting where it should, I should be able to make as many as people want (for a price). I don't know how well the stock trans would hold up and I don't think anyone has made an adaptor or is in the process of making an adaptor yet.

Good to see you're back in the drivers seat with the build Brad :steer: Hangin out for more pics, you gotta post a video of that 4" exhaust howling away. Have you thought about just leaving the stock rear axle shafts in place? A dowel upgrade to 100 series spec would be cheap insurance, but from what iv'e seen the stock shafts properly set up are pretty stout. Just my 2 cents worth and if you smash em you will have some cool trophies for the shed
