In the process of installing a DUI distributor. Could someone with a DUI post a photo of their installed distributor in a 2F so I can get a starting point on where to turn the distributor relative to the #1 plug wire so I can get it started and dial it in with a timing gun.

I’m sure I stabbed the distributor correctly (done it multiple times in the past) and have tried turning the distributor so the #1 wire on the cap is both to the right and left of the #4 spark plug and it still won’t start. Checked and I have a good spark. Possible that I have another gremlin, but want to get this checked off the list before I go csi something else.

Thxs in advance

had the bb lined up when I stabbed it…so dont think so

ahhh. will rotate crankshaft 180deg and try it again

Just an FYI. - I had some issues with it burning out the module when I installed mine. Come to find out the paper gasket was causing some grounding issues. I ended up putting a ground wire from the mounting hold-down screw to the negative on the battery - solved the problem.

Definitely a good spare to have with a DUI.

Ok…. I lined up the tdc mark on the flywheel inspection window, pulled the distributor, rotated the flywheel a full rotation, and restabbed the distributor. The slot in the block that the bottom of the distributor slides into was pointed roughly towards the #4 spark plugs both when I pulled the distributor and when I restabbed.

This is the way it looks now after restabbing (inspection window still shows tdc and distributor fully seated flush on the block)

I think the rotor should point more at spark plug #4.
it does when you push it that way.. think it has something to do with the advance on a dui.

I didnt want to pull the valve cover so I put a compression gauge on #1 cyl to make sure it was on the compression stroke now
