@stevezero @NCFJ and @Cruiserdrew thanks for your advice! I of course want to make it as correct and safe as possible, so I will take your suggestions serious and install an extra fuse, loom the cables and maybe also rewire them under the radiatorsupport. Now does that require that I take off the radiator to get in there properly? Don't have my car here to check it myself.

I'm currently doing the research to put a solar power system in my truck and stumbled across this forum. I don't really belong on here ( I have a GMC Sierra) but just wanted to thank you all for this wealth of knowledge. Y'all answered questions I didn't even know I had!

Thanks for the kind words on behalf of everyone who helped here :)

Believe me, I've looked at them, but the marital unit already wants me to sell my old truck and I'm not sure if she would go for an old land cruiser as a replacement. Maybe one day lol

@Sir Bizkit

We don't discriminate here. Glad you're here and wishing you a safe and useful dual battery install.

We are all in this game for the same reason.

Who said anything about OLD? And maybe a Lexus LX version (rebadged Cruiser) would be an easier sell?
Those date back to 1996, 3 generations ago. LX450, LX470 and LX570. My oldest LX450 has 293,000 miles, is very clean and runs strong. Buy once, cry once buy another before they all disappear. Would you like us to talk to her for you?

My budget is the one saying old lol. I might be able to sell her on it as she wanted me to sell my truck and buy a new one (until I told her the price they go for new). We will be getting her a new car next year and she's looking at SUVs, so I better start steering her that way now. Let her think we are getting it for her!

You are already sounding like a Land Cruiser guy.

Wow what a fantastic read, I'm looking to create a dual setup ahead of some spring camping and this has been absolutely amazing to read. Thank you all!
