As I recall the issue was a broken bolt. Easily repaired. The mirror heads are all metal and excellent, IMO.

yeah the heads are great. from what i recall of that thread the bolt was easily broken and the arms didn't have enough movement to get the mirror head to a usable location.

With a bit of persuasion down near the windshield and right at the head mount, you can tweak the arm to get a usable angle. The telescope feature worked great to get the passenger-side mirror out past my cage when I added it.

There is plenty of literature showing trucks topless and without doors ... There was a guy who had to goto court several years ago that I helped out with literature/factory pictures that had no doors ... He was successful

There is also the 'factory door straps' that go in place of the doors when they are off... I usually run these when ever the doors are off

I may look into the original Toyota mirrors. Just threw that review out there trying to save anyone from the disappointment I received

the stops are mostly about money fines ,and more fines and anything else they can find while they have you stopped .
