the driver door outside handle will not open from the outside the PO said it's just a bushing which he left me...but looking for any advice on how to fix this or work on it while I have a few days left of vacation..thanks!!

pull the handle- it's easy. the hardest part is removing the horeshoe clip on the window crank handle. prolly have a broken actuator tip or a bent link. once you get into the door, it'll start to make more sense. I coated my linkage with a liberal layer of graphite spray lube; helped everything loosen up ALOT. HTH

I believe you will have to remove the linkages and the door locking mechanism in order to reach that one handle bolt. This is a good time to clean and relube everything in the door. I'm betting the handle is gummed up and the pin isn't pushing out.

I'd like to see what bushing he left you?

Here's some pictures....

When I was in Denver picking parts i was looking for these so called"bushings" didn't make sense very simple handle...unless the plunger broke?

Ok, here's some pictures of a handle taken apart. I really doubt anything broke, but you never know. If the button is working (in and out) then something is gummed up inside the door.

That bigger screw on the upper right corner is the hard one to get at...

You can see how that would get gummed up, a good cleaning and lubing is in order....

Pablo had some of those thin plastic gaskets made a few years ago, maybe he has some in stock, you can see how that one is broken, it helps the button from sticking...

I'm really thinking you're going inside the door to fix.

EDIT....No hood was hurt in taking these photos! :)

Pulling it apart today...along with replacing passenger interior handle...the next thing is to figure out why my blower motor isn't working o_O
