I think I installed my catback system in May. I haven't had any clamps come loose but it just seems to be a tad too close to the upper link bolt in the picture. Overall I'm satisfied, especially on on-ramps! My stock muffler had a giant hole in it and when I was considering other alternatives like local shops, the DT system seemed like my best bet. I wish it wasn't as loud as it is when cruising up the highway. It isn't bad but I would prefer not to hear it all when I'm not heavy on the gas. I have the DT headers too and together it sure seems faster but maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Ordered the cat back system earlier today. 499 shipped to the house from DT direct. I'll try to get some good photos prior to/during/and after the install. Thanks for everyone's help on here... I appreciate it!!

Don't forget to get some new exhaust gaskets for where the catback flanges meet the mid-pipe flanges. Sawzall works great for removing the old exhaust and go ahead and start appling your favorite solution on the old flange nuts and bolts now. I have had great results with 50/50 acetone/ATF mixture.

The new Cat back showed up earlier today. Everything looks great! The box showed up perfect..
The stainless steel looks of good quality, the clamps look heavy duty and it came with the other necessary high quality hardware.
Only thing missing is the exhaust crush gaskets between the mids and the cat back. They were picked up today (OE Toyota) for around 20 bucks..

Install day is Friday, pics and additional report to follow.

New DT Cat-Back installed!! Overall I absolutely love it. Truthfully as stated above its pry a tad bit loud, however not in a bad way. It sounds absolutely amazing.. Every time I start it I have a smile on my face.. (not kidding) Good, throaty but clean mellow V8 note. It brings me back to my Mustang Cobra (Terminator) Days. LOL

With the limited current options out there, and for the 499 shipped price I would absolutely recommend this system. Also, even though its not advertised as a high clearance exhaust, it truly is. Without a resonator it tucks up absolutely perfect right under the rear of my Slee bumper. Easily saving probably 8+ inches of clearance on the rear end compared to factory OE Toyota...

Ready for install and the new system all layed out...

The ONLY ONLY slight problem I've run in to is a ever so slight exhaust leak at this clamp.. Not a big deal, it will just require a little additional attention in the future. Nothing severe...

Oh, did I mention it sounds oh so sweet!!! =]

I agree with others, I'd find the best custom shop in town and get on the same page with their best tech and bend up what you want. I'd bet its cheaper than $500. Fwiw, I had a local shop fit me up from the headers back, routed over my skid plates, tucked up higher than my rear frame rails and dumped out the side of my choosing... all for $200.

@Blackwater, it looks like you've removed the "cross-member thing" that the spare would mount to. Is this necessary to fit the new exhaust system or just something you removed because you no longer use it?

I removed the rear underside tire carrier when I installed my Slee Rear bumper. I wouldn't think there would be any interference but am not able to say for certain as mine was already removed.

Any other questions feel free to ask.

Not sure what happened with that first post so here we go again

First post but I thought I would add a note. 2003 LC with 169,000 my first LC as well. After dealing with a bit of the PM on the truck the first thing I did to start my build was call up and get this exhaust system. As noted by Blackwater that one clamp is the only "minor" item I had an issue with. 20$ later I took it by my local shop and they dropped a weld around it. Sound is great, the drone can be a little much at lower speeds but after driving it for a week now I'm used to it and don't really notice it on the highway with the radio one. I would post a pic if it added any value but would look the same as what Blackwater has done.

Thanks, BTW, Blackwater I saw this thread and decided to get this system......

I called the other day and got a price of $522 shipped to my house. I am getting close to pulling the trigger on it. Are their enough people interested to see if we could get a group buy going?

I ended up going the Magnaflow route and deleting the resonator. I'm very pleased with the results, especially for $250 installed.

Looks like I'm pretty tardy to this party, but I'll throw my 2 cents in. I've had my DT catback installed for close to a year now and it's been nothing but great to me. I don't think the drone is bad at all and the throaty sound of the V8 is absolutely an appealing aspect. The exit is pretty much level with the frame so I don't think I will ever be hitting my exhaust on any rocks any time soon. I would definitely recommend the DT setup to anybody that doesn't mind a beefy sound.
