FWIW to those drinking the Doug Thorley Header kool-aid: Don't use the "special" header gaskets DT provides. Stick with OEM Toyota. Or you'll be doing the job twice...all things DT header cracking put aside.

Thanks for the update. I was about to order some DT headers.

here is what my last 100 sounded like with the doug thorley cat back. It tucks WAY up and out of the way...is a very nice system.
I later added the EMS midpipe and had some catalytic converters installed....I liked it all in all

I agree with others, I'd find the best custom shop in town and get on the same page with their best tech and bend up what you want. I'd bet its cheaper than $500. Fwiw, I had a local shop fit me up from the headers back, routed over my skid plates, tucked up higher than my rear frame rails and dumped out the side of my choosing... all for $200.
@REZARF who did you go to in Broomfield? $200 included headers or just from headers back? I know this post is a year and half old, but even if it doubled, it seems like a good deal.

I need to get some exhaust work done after a rear bumper install and get that god-awful resonator out of there. To quote @DanS HJ-45 from a 70 series thread:

"I'll bet money on AA.

AA Performance Muffler - Englewood, Colorado - Family-owned and operated installing custom performance muffler, exhaust systems and brakes in the Denver area and beyond.

It's who most everyone who is anyone in Denver uses. And, there's a coffee shop real close."

I had them do the exhaust on my BJ74 and am happy with the results.

This system does not fit on the 06-07 models. I called the company and they said they tried it on the later model 100 series and the exhaust hanger location and pipe routing was different and their system did not fit, hence why it’s advertised only 99-05.

There is a version for vvti equipped 2006-2007 vehicles as well. I have it installed.

Strange how the person I talked to never mentioned this. I even asked if they can custom make something for the newer model and he said that's not an option.

Do you have a link? I can't find anything for 06-07.

BTW, I am referring to their catback system, NOT the headers.

My apologies, I had thought you were referring to the headers. I wouldn't have guessed the catback differed between 2005 and 2006 that is surprising to me and quite frankly I question the accuracy of what you were told. But I do NOT have first hand knowledge, sorry. I paired a Borla exhaust with the DT Headers. Borla states their catback fits 1998-2007 - so why would DT be different?

Yeah I was under the impression that 98-07 would have the same exhaust. Which makes me wonder why it’s not advertised for 1998 models either (only 99-05). He said after 2005 it was a “platform change”... which lead me to believe he’s referring to the 200 Series and I stated to him those didn’t come out til 2008 but even having said that, he said it won’t fit 06-07 models. So strange.

I’ll call my brother tomorrow (who works in Lexus service) and have him check OEM part numbers on LX470 exhausts and see if there was a P/N difference between the years. Something just sounds off about this.

In either case it’s not a complex exhaust system at all. Won’t be hard to just make your own custom piping or just cut off the factory resonator and weld in a pipe for more clearance. Problem solved.

I stand corrected. Just talked to my brother and he checked all the exhaust part numbers on the LX. Part #s are indeed different on the later 06-07 models.

Time to go custom exhaust!

Yup I just looked under mine and the pipe is just welded to the resonator. Looks like on the older models there was a flange right before the resonator allowing you to unbolt it without taking the entire pipe off the truck.

The new Cat back showed up earlier today. Everything looks great! The box showed up perfect..
The stainless steel looks of good quality, the clamps look heavy duty and it came with the other necessary high quality hardware.
Only thing missing is the exhaust crush gaskets between the mids and the cat back. They were picked up today (OE Toyota) for around 20 bucks..

Install day is Friday, pics and additional report to follow.
How many gaskets did you have to get for the installation and what is the OEM parts number for the gasket? Thanks!

I used Boulder Muffler, they're awesome. This was in reference to my 40 series though not my 100.

This is the response I received from them this morning regarding 06-07 100 series.

Good Morning Sir,

Per our conversation earlier today. The following exhaust system will definitely work on the 2007 Land Cruiser as well. It seems that our website has not been updated but we will go ahead and do so.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at any time.

Best regards,

DTH Customer Service Team
