Does your Dakota Digital range work appropriately?

What sending unit are you using? I was told to use the DD sending unit and not the Toyota unit because the Toyota unit I bought will work but are harder to calibrate. So I have both because I did not know about the issue.

I have not installed my gauge package yet but will be fun to see what it shows for range with the 29 gallon tank.

I am using a 0-90 ohm floatless sender from Tanks Inc. and it is extremely accurate.

I’d love to have one of these. Anyone regret anything on the DD??

I have absolutely no regrets. This is one of my favorite parts of my build. The gauges are beautiful and modern with a retro feel.

I ordered an an adapter ring for the sending unit and Jerimiah Profit called me to see what sending unit I was using and it told him I already bought the Toyota unit and told me to get the one from DD. So when I was ordering the DD parts I included the sending unit.

Wow, this one is from the archives, and I forgot to report back on my issue. Dakota Digital reprogrammed my computer and my range has been working since. They had to install a special program to accommodate for my engine’s drinking problem. All is good.
So my original (sarcastic) comment (post 2) was basically correct. “Maybe it can’t believe how bad your/our milage is! And defaults to “you better get gas!”?? Most of my sarcastic comments have a kernel of truth or theory.. algorithms can be annoying!

I believe it is an OEM sender. Because the gauge is just an ohm meter and the sender is a potentiometer, the gauge really doesn't care much about the brand of sender. It just needs to be calibrated to the sender.

I don't. Mine works well and talks to the Commie Cummins well.
I'm not sure how much trust I put in the boost reading coming through the canbus, but consistency there is more important than the actual number. I'm curious what @POPO AGIE sees for numbers out of his with a mechanical gauge over what the MAP sensor returns for a value

Nothing is hooked up and do not have anything powered. I have the EGT probe in place on the manifold but not hooked up. My DD parts and gauge package are still packed in the box. I have not fired mine yet and no oil or water.
