Random question: My Dissent rear bumper is supposed to arrive at the Fed Ex terminal this week and I'd like to go pick it up without taking my trailer. Can I fit all the components in the back of my 200? Would love to pull the stuff off the pallet and leave it there.
I only bought the bumper itself. No swingouts, tables or ladders.
YES- Absolutely. I fit mine in the wife's Prius v. 4x4 Cardboard pallet

Probably. Mine arrived in a big 4'x4'x3' (or something like that) Fedex box with an integral cardboard pallet and had more parts than I'd try to transport loose. They use expanding spray foam inside plastic sheet material to cushion the parts. I have dual swingout version, so I have more parts than you would. I'd think if you can work out the logistics of unboxing and them taking the packaging and waste, you should be able to fit all of the parts in the rear cargo area. I'd probably use moving blankets or something similar as padding to protect parts in transit.
Same

Thanks, guys. It took me about 2 minutes to liberate the parts from the pallet. Saved me some hassle by not taking the trailer and I'm very grateful I didn't have to get rid of all that trash at home.
It was a lot of hassle to deal with that pallet, once everything was installed. Good call on pulling the parts and leaving the pallet/waste. Wish I'd thought to do it.

Can anyone explain to me the purpose of having tilt angle adjustability of the spare tire swing out? I'm guessing so you can see the license plate better when you have a larger tire on the back?

aesthetics. I like how it hugs the body line vs just sitting straight up.
Also, by having it tilted up, it will stay in place when you take the lugs off vs potentially slipping off.

I never had to relocate my license plate, but the plate is stationary on the bottom part of the swingarm.

I assumed so that you can adjust as needed for whatever size tire you have, and any wheel regardless of backspacing. I set mine so the lower part of the tire had the most contact with the carrier. It’s a LOT of torque when that tire is bouncing around on the trail, so my thought was, the more contact, the less chance for movement.

This was my thoughts as well. I had to retighten those 3 lugs that hold the tire on a few days after I did a tire rotation. Originally, I had them pretty doggone tight but noticed a slight rattle sound when closing that swing out one day. I checked all the bolts on the swing out before going to those lugs because I never expected those to get loose after the torque I had put on them. Lo and behold the lower had jiggle loose and the other two were not as tight.

Moral of this story is that the tire does look really stable back there but there is a lot of activity going on if you see it or not. I have the tire making contact and have those lugs far tighter than the 97 on the hub and check them occasionally.

The tire mount itself telescopes in and out to support various offset wheels, while the tilt angle does help get the center of gravity over the risers more, I have always \ really liked the look of the spare tire tilted to match the angle of the back glass. Just looks cool, imo

I had ordered a set of Road Vision lights to replace the set in my previous bumper, so I did not order from Dissent. Maybe I didn’t get a hardware pack, but how do these mount in the Dissent rear?

There are brackets that the lights bolt to, and the bracket bolts to the bumper wing. Not a very good picture, but the only one I have. You can see the bracket with the bolts poking out from behind the light. I wonder if Dissent only includes the brackets if you buy the lights from them?

Correct, @JetSurfer the price for the combo lights includes the brackets so they are not sent out with every order. It doesn't make sense to send extra brackets to people who aren't going to use them but if you email, they can definitely be sold separately.

Thought I'd throw this on here.

We are at 260" of snow so far here in Crested BUtte. I thought I'd pass along that I've had zero issues with the swing out's icing up or any other challenges. They've performed flawlessly. Posting just in case any northerners were wondering.

Anyone else here running into clearance issues at the rear with 34” or larger tires? I am rubbing, ever so slightly, with LT285/75r17 and LT285/70r18 at full compression. Considering going bigger in the future but don’t want a tire getting wedged / stuck. Is it possible to adjust the bumper wings rearward a smidge to gain some breathing room?
@benc @radman to name a few I know are running larger sizes successfully with this bumper. I really want to avoid adjustable trailing arms and tinkering with alignment. The front of the rear wheel well has ample room but the way the that axle articulates at the rear is rubbing a bit.
