Will this mounting system allow us to raise the bumper for a body lift?
This will allow different brackets to be installed for a body lift. I still need to build brackets for the body lift. Also if someone were to add a body lift later they could just buy new brackets and bolt them on.

Please walk us through your thought process here Ben.
The bumper itself will be a modular type with the 3 sections - LH Center RH - being bolted together.
Then, for those with grill-headlight guard/stinger, that part will be welded on to the 2 or 3 sections (depending on what is bought)? And as far as I see the riser will be sandwiched/bolted between those plates, is that correct?
That means even being a modular you wouldn't be able to take it apart later since its now welded?

Also would be good (and I don't know if I'm asking too much here) if there is a general side by side comparison to both mounting versions. I like the last few posts but need to go dig the earlier now to see whats different.
It sure looks really good now, specially with the little plate on the bottom with the cut outs!

The main bumper will not be a modular design. The risers will slide between and bolt from the outside. The reasons for this are, adjustability and ease of install. This way you can bolt on the risers first, then simply slide the bumper onto the risers. From there the risers will hold the bumper in place while the front bolts are installed. This make the install an easy one man job. The other option is to just have the risers welded to the bumper and it would all be one unit.

For the grill guard, I plan to have a total of 4 plates bolted to the top of the bumper where the tube and towers would normally be welded. The grill guard will still come off the bumper as a whole.

Looks great. I don't mind the $25-$50 increase for the mounting system. But since I'm not gonna have the full grille guard, I don't want any holes up there if possible...

Thanks, yeah will just have to be drilled per application. It is only 1/8" so pretty easy to drill. Plus some guys may want to change the location of the headlight hoops on the DIY kits.

More progress pics.

Now with the sleeve in there and the sandwich o'metal, those anchor points look hella stout! (Thanks for documenting the fab with photos. Having a ball and getting fired up.)

Yeah, they aren't going anywhere.

@benc did you ever get look at an 03+ or 06 to see if there were any front end differences?
I haven't yet. I do have one lined up though. I do still need to round up an lx. And I need to figure out a good turn signal option for the lx owners.

Another thing to consider is state's that require a front license plate.
If you had a license plate mounting option for those states it might bring more people your way too ;).

LX owners can just rewire their corner lamps to be signal lamps.

That is true, but if he has an option to not do that it should attract more LX interest. I know I would prefer not to drill into my stock lenses OR biy new LC lenses. But obviously I will do it if he doesnt have an alternative.

So those are just side markers to begin with? Signals being down on the bumper? That's weird how they did it!
