Great idea and great looking bumper! I haven't bought any bumpers or sliders yet but, this is definitely on the list.

PLEASE do a simplified rear aluminum bumper? For that 80% of us that run spares that fit underneath, and like the access to our rear hatch as unencumbered as possible... oh, and are already carrying hundreds of pounds of family gear when we head out, aluminum would be awesome ;)

I would love to see this happen in time for next year's Tax Return. May need to be a hybrid in order to keep the hitch. I also keep my spare 295/75-r16 NTG underneath in the stock location.

Ben, please add me to the list as well. I would like to order one when available. Can you be more specific than "soon" regarding the timeline? In any case, this bumper will easily be worth the wait!

I'll add you now.
I wish I could be more specific but this summer is going to be extremely busy!
The time frame really depends on how many revisions I have to make before I'm satisfied.
I'm really hoping that the next revision will be all that's needed but I won't know 100% until I get to do some testing.
Thanks!

@Teej
Trying to add you but it will not let me edit,

Anyone else having trouble with editing older posts?

I think a recent update made it to where you can't edit after a day or so. Pretty annoying.

I made a Google drive word document with a running list and shared a link to it. It's especially annoying because you can't go back and add the link to the first post.

@benc I own a business which is production based myself and I can relate to developing under high demand with everything else running in the background. It's a good problem to have, but can be difficult to tie down timelines etc. You've got great looking products and they are worth the wait I'm sure. I'm ready to order whenever they're done! When possible keep us posted on your progress! I might end up going with front and rear bumpers at the same time. That modular rear bumper you've created is really awesome too.

Very interested, would be great to have a light weight option that actually looks good.

How well do you think this would hold up to a deer or even the occasional slide across a rock?

It's hard to say for sure until it's tested. The main points of contact will still be extremly strong so I think it will hold up well in most situations.
I plan to run one on mine and put it through some abuse.

Definitely interested in the feedback,
I wouldn't expect this thing to take the full weight of the 100 slamming down on large rocks but I'm not interested in that sort of driving. If it can handle ground clearance dragging and protect against potential road kill I'm all in.

Hi Ben,

I am an original owner of one of the first 100's (I preordered) in Boulder, CO and at a well preserved 130K miles have been reluctant to make changes. Last summer I went "all in" with Slee to upgrade the suspension, etc. I have seen the light and, after looking at all of the various options for bumpers, racks and sliders, it is clear that I need to be on your list! So, as a much needed birthday gift to myself (today, July 4th), I have signed up for my first forum, am writing my first post and, most importantly, would like to be added to the list for the aluminum front bumper and a rear bumper.

Regarding the rear bumper, what you currently are building works for me but I can wait if a lighter version is in the works. I would love the option to not have the swing out tire, however, yours is the only one that I could live with. Absolutely will commit to the bike rack mount that is described in your other thread.

And, of course, based on what I have seen so far, I'll be amongst the group waiting for your versions of sliders and a roof rack! I am ready to be "all in" with Dissent! Let me know if I need to email you additional contact info, make a deposit or anything else.

Thanks and GREAT WORK!

Rich

Wait! What!? @benc is making sliders!? How did I miss this!?

I can't fully commit yet, but when I can, inmost definitely will. Having an all Dissented out truck would be super awesome! When is the roof rack going to be done!?

Haha,
No sliders yet but soon.
They will be a formed plate style slider/step.
Racks are getting closer as well.

Love the look but I already have your steel front bumper which I am very happy with!

I could not agree with this more. The 100 series needs a simple bumper out of aluminum with a steel tow hitch if possible.
