I've bought a set of the original wheels for the LC80.
All wheels were sandblasted and powder-coated.
When trying to install them, I struggled with the bolts on one of them.
When closely inspected, I've noticed its inner holes look different.
Here are the back of the holes compared to another wheel:

It looks like an inner metal tube inside the holes.
Are there 2 versions of the wheels?

Those inner metal tubes are sleeves for the wheel lugs to clamp against. What year are the wheels from?

There are 2 versions...early used acorn nuts and later used the shank nuts. I can't quite tell from your pics, is the one with the inserts tapered? If so, it's probably for acorn style nuts.

I'm not gonna use two sets of lug nuts.
Thinking about taking the wheel to a professional so he can drill out the holes so all the other nuts will fit.

Just use the correct lug nuts on all 4 rims why would you use different ones?

What was the struggle? Did the wheel physically fit over the lugs
Both type of wheels fit over the same lugs with the same thread & pitch.
It looks to me someone added a metal reducer to the factory wheel.
I’ve never seen a sleeve like that in OEM wheel.
