In general, ya nothing in the front IFS suspension system changed from '86 till '95, when the Tacoma finally arrived.

Do people use the V6 torsion bar to lift the 4bangers?

Swaping v6 t-bars on to a 4cyl works great. Doesn't do anything to the ride that is noticeable but they take cranking in lift way better. The only problem is finding a low mileage set that isn't worn out by now.

Not to hijack, but I've got a low mileage set of T-bars out of an LN-130 Surf--which should be the same as the V6 bars, if anyone is interested.

I will note that my truck's PO (that was well over a decade ago now) cranked the T-bars, and it did indeed ride real rough. I would personally get ball joint spacers instead of cranking the T-bars.
