Sorry should have specified 6bt 12V

After years of building these for others, I finally get one for me! Always looking for an excuse to drive this thing!
1. 1995 FZJ80 is now a HDJ80
2. Completely rebuilt 1HD-T engine, brand new H152 manual transmission with all factory parts, no janky Chinese crap or homemade brackets! Rebuilt injection pump, injectors and all new parts that were still available.
3. What went really well with the swap?
-Nothing, everything had to be redone 2-3 times, but that’s how it goes sometimes. For example the used junkyard gamble engine I bought showed up with bent rods (don’t use starting fluid people), but it’s rebuilt now, so lemons are lemonade.
4. What was unexpectedly difficult with the swap?
-Nothing, I expected that’s how it was gonna go…
5. Mods...aside from drivetrain, if any?
-prinsu roof rack, ARB winch bumper, OME lift, snorkel, Pyro, clear view towing mirrors, the usual stuff
6. Driving impressions after the swap...including drivability in daily driving (if applicable), highway travel, and, of course, off pavement.
- Smooth as glass, on and off road. I leave this thing in 5th gear pulling mountain passes and it might break 900 F on the pyro and that’s going 65mph non-intercooled! Cruises at 2400 rpm’s at 70 mph on flat highway, stays right around 500F.
7. Realistic fuel consumption after the swap...lol. :D
-19mpg around town/back roads. 22-23 mpg on the highway. (US gallons)
8. Plan to intercool it so I can use it to tow, other than that I think it’s done.🤔

Mudandrock! That swap is pretty much my dream setup. Especially 20mpg+ highway :)

What’s the heaviest Yall have towed with your diesel 80s? Looking at getting a camper trailer when I swap my 80 series with the 6BT

Does anyone have experience with adventure vehicles NW vs powertrain integration NV4500 to HF2A adapters?
I've gotten a few things from Adventure Vehicles NW without any issue. I've had a tremendous amount of difficulty even communicating with powertrain integration much less actually purchase anything from him. I've been dreaming of doing my cummins swap for quite a while so I've been reading on an off about it in the forums for a while as well. It turns out that powertrain integration is the same guy who was Allmaras (sp) machine shop from a number of years ago. Anyone who's been on the forums a bit may remember they were involved with producing a very comprehensive cummins swap "kit" that people bought but often did not receive all the parts. Some searching would prob yield some old threads on it.

I’ve been speaking with Dustin and he has been nothing but professional, nothing but good things to say, I have ordered a kit from him and it was instantly shipped. Definitely recommend as of now .

Anyone???
I have a first gen dodge that has the 6BT. I use it to tow land cruisers. Only reason I keep it around, as I absolutely hate driving it. Don’t know why anyone would want to put a Cummins in a Land Cruiser. LOUD!

I will happily take that 1st gen off your hands !!

1. 1996 FZJ 80, jdm
2. 2003 1HD-T out of a rolled 100 Series, H151 Tranny
3. What went really well with the swap?
Engine was in great shape, only did BOB as a precaution, belts, hoses and filters.
4. What was unexpectedly difficult with the swap?
Transmission, made the boneheaded mistake of thinking a fully mechanical motor with no CPU could work with a A422. Motor mounts in the 100 are not in the same spot, downpipe for exhaust runs quite low, under tranny bridge. All fixable things, but a PIA during a swap. Did a custom center console for shifter by pulling a mold off original and modding it. Fabbed
with fiberglass, nothing fancy, but I did put in a custom cup holder for my Yeti.

5. 3” exhaust with custom resonator
Arb front bumper, prinsu rack, dobinson lift, dual battery setup, compressor with 5 gallon air tank.

6. Driving impressions after the swap...

Mostly used offroad, it’s a torque monster, so nice being able to brake using engine compression. Very good DD. Smooth, but noisy in 3rd. Highway drives well, lacks top end speed, but I live in Honduras. The roads don’t let you go past 60mph with the crater potholes we have. A regresar would fix that.

7. Realistic fuel consumption after the swap...lol. :D
10-12 offroad, 16-18 city, 20-23 highway

8. ** Not bad if you know your basics. Fabrication ability comes in handy when some things don’t fit depending on your donor model year.
