Really? Who? I did a search some time ago as I was thinking of using a front 80, I couldn't find anybody on the forums that had broken one.Guys wheeling hard with 35s and over kill the front 80 series differentials..
Radius arm suspension is a good setup, but very limited.
How many miles did they have on the differential? 200k awd miles like most 80s have?I know several broken ones in 80s with 35s. But knowing the individuals involved, it isn't too surprising.

5.29s give an awfully small pinion gear. Especially for a big fj80. Also, what brand r&p are they using for 5.29s? How bout with the stock 4.10 gears? Are people breaking those? When I asked about the front diff strength of an 80 in the 80 section, no one mentioned breakage. I had considered going that route. But didnt since I had a ARB for a 9.5 diff.No, sadly, the last one was a new professional set up with 5.29s. The driver is known not to be the most careful, but still...
This has 61" wide axle up front with 2" offset wheels which would equal fj80 width using 3" offset wheels, it his 35" tires. Maybe gives u a idea.Anybody have any pics of front of FJ with 80 width axles?
