It was not an easy job and seeing how hard it was might recommend a mechanic for it next time. I’d say around 8-10 hours of shop time at the minimum to do it right.
I’m curious about this too. Any noticeable differences in squeaks and rattles? I have a consistent squeaky chirp that I assume is from the rear seats or OME nylon bushings, but can’t narrow it down. Never thought about the body mounts
Looking absolutely gorgeous. Your attention to detail is top shelf.
Hopefully I'll cross paths with you somewhere here in town and get to see her in person.

I have noticed it is a better ride and get less harshness when hitting rougher terrain. The suspension of course takes a lot of the load - but the body mounts are clearly something you feel when a heavy load is transferred across the vehicle.

One of my favorite details is the Multi-gauge clock that allows me to keep the interior clean without all the extra gauges. Great product courtesy of @Lutz Auto
Man, this is a BEAUTIFUL 80. Attention to detail here is top notch. Will scroll back through the rest of your build, to see if you’ve posted them, but we need to hear turbo sounds. Asking for a friend.
Thanks for the kind words and this has been a total pleasure to build this truck. My family and I are in Asia for the next couple of years so I’ve decided to sell the truck as we rent out our home.
I’m not parting with it easy - my friends wants it on Bring a Trailer but let’s see what happens.
This is my "Desert Moon" build, documented in full here on MUD. Desert Dune over Moonglow with Oak interior, factory triple-locked. Two owners before me — one year in Pennsylvania, then Port Angeles, WA, where it was an older couple's daily for 18 years. I bought it as a clean, honest rig and...
I decided to replace the fake wood trim and found a supplier in Florida that had the cherrywood match - I haven’t decided if I will keep it but it does make the interior period correct.
Your restoration is immaculate! Thanks for posting each step in detail. Question: how did you end up liking the cherrywood woodgrain? And mind posting your source?

P.S. dig the ACG sticker on there. Had one of the old ACG K2 Anniversary jackets "Boundaries are for Dictators" that got stolen with all my camping equipment in Oakland, CA.
