Hey,

Long time reader, finally posting that I bought my FZJ-80.

Probably the wrong place to post this, but I'm new to Denver and new to wrenching so I'm in need of some advice on my first "big" job - Front axle rebuild.

Lots of great posts on here, but I can't print a forum for instructions and would feel more confident wrenching with someone who has done it than hoping for the best DIY results.

So any volunteers or advice besides pay a guy?

So are you rebuilding your front axles because they are puking gear oil all over, or because it sounds like a fun thing to do?

As much fun as it sounds like doing, it's more about solving the slow leak that is making my driveway look like a Dalmatian and keeping me from the trails.

Have you checked your knuckles to make sure they have plenty of moly grease in them?

Lots of folks local who could help out. Someone is always in their front end doing work.

Local shops to do the work include Slee Offroad in Golden, Conifer Toyota Specialists in Conifer, Adventure Offroad in Boulder, plus a few others if you want to pay.
