Buying 60 Series flasher modules. Part numbers 81980-22070 (green) and 81980-16010 (black). Must be functioning and not have any melted plastic.
I modify these for use with LED turn signal bulbs and ask people to return their existing unit to me. So far the success rate on that is about 25%. I need more cores!
No this is not the "cut out the resistor trick" - that isn't healthy for the other components in the circuit and can potentially shorten the lifespan of the module by killing components that aren't available anymore. I'm modifying the circuit the way it should be modified.
Yes there are other options on the market, but I'm focused on a plug & play solution that uses the high quality original components along with a few high quality aftermarket Japanese components. Ever seen inside some of the Amazon flashers? Yikes. Nothing dangling down below the dash either. Direct fit as Mr. Toyoda intended. The originals have lasted 35-45 years and that says something.
