This is the best looking and possibly the best thought out bumper I have ever seen. I've love to get a little more detail on the latches that hold the bumper closed.... @boogiebones Could you take a quick video of unlatching, swinging open, swinging closed and latching? I just can't quite visualize how that system works.

I almost did that myself but forgot to get it before it got dark. Next chance I get will be Thursday but it’s on my to-do list.

Looks great. Is there an opportunity for an integrated receiver hitch or would one have to use the factory hitch?

There is a small plate down low with the Delta emblem that is removable to allow for a receiver through but not directly attached to the bumper itself. Kinda like for the FJ Cruiser reciever is set up as I understand it.

Any idea on how much that thing weights? I’m really liking the design.

Ask any flex on the spare holder if you try to rock it?

Also any light and camera mounts?

We have put a lot of time into making this setup as stiff and solid as possible. One of the reasons it's taken a while to get to market. We are quite happy with how it's turned out, and are pretty sure the community will be too. There are no specific light or camera mounts, but as @boogiebones stated, there is ample space for mounting whatever you want. Not only to you get to choose which side you mount it on, everything that gets mounted to the bumper is fully modular and can move about as you see fit.

See pic below. The blue arrow shows the adjustability of the "head" of the wheel plate (this allows for adjustability between different wheel offsets) and if you look close at where the yellow arrows are pointing, you can just barely see that the bolt are mounted through slots. These slots overlap the hole layout on the arms, so you can quite literally mount the accessories anywhere along the flat upright section of the arm. You have about a 16" window from side to side that you can position each attachment.

The little name plate on the back is removable and that spot is sized to work with something like this: Receiver Trailer Tow Hitch Toyota Land Cruiser Fj40 Hard Top Powder Coated Fj80 | eBay if you need a hitch. As stated above, you can also easily mount the OEM receiver below the bumper.

Just to point out, other bumpers may have a hitch but aren’t rated to tow, either. From a liability standpoint, they’re all passing the buck onto the owners of the bumper. (Advantage goes to the incorporated hitches for “off road use only”). Since it’s probably not the right place to discuss “other bumpers” capacity, even tho not rated, I won’t.

To the guys over at Delta, this is probably the most well thought 80 series bumper that I’ve seen. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, fab skills, and communication skills of your team are second to none. If I had the coin, it’d be hard to not buy this.

Thanks! We've made the decision to not even "pass the buck" of liability to the owner. Even by saying it's for "off-road use only" or something similar, it won't stop a zealous lawyer type with a litigious happy client from coming after us. And since we'd rather spend our time making cool things and testing them out on the weekends, we won't even be going there.

Yes I could keep using my rear slider/factory receiver, but with a bumper like this it would just be in the way.

For those that need to tow trailers then they would leave the rear slider/receiver in place.

This one won't be getting a receiver. There are plenty of options on the market to accommodate that type of thing. The one I posted earlier, SLEE makes one, etc.

I dont understand your question.

I've held off on building or buying a 4x4 labs kit because of this bumper. The lack of a reciever tube isn't a turn off for me because that little area with your removable logo is begging for a plate with reciever tube to be welded in.

With regard to the receiver discussion: this bumper is no different from any other aftermarket bumper that retains the factory cross member as it pertains to towing (or bike rack) options. Your choices are either bolt up a pintle hitch or pintle hitch-patterned receiver as pictured above, bolt up the factory ass-dragger receiver, or weld in your own doohicky. Same deal as slee, dobinsons, etc.

Another amazing and thoughtful product from @Delta VS that I can't afford!

You could very easily buy the receiver that Slee sells (or make one) slice out the square between the 4 bolts and slap it in. The lack of receiver hitch wouldn't deter me. The flat modular mounting plate makes it so much easier to build bolt on accessories.

That's basically my plan. Bear in mind that Slee's 4 bolt holes are not the same dimensions as your regular pintle style hitch. They are farther apart.

Its modular so Im guessing you can mount either left or right.

The 80 platform is used for a wide range of applications ranging from DD to expediton to explorer to full on wheeler. It’s recognizably tough to design a product to accommodate everyone. A receiver hitch isn’t just for towing a boat to the lake but also bike racks and off-road trailers. An integrated hitch that doesn’t sacrifice departure angle is always appreciated. That said, it’s a wonderfully elegant design.
