I was thinking of doing a day run Sat the 24th. Obviously this would conflict with those doing the Mojave trail but I know all of you can't be going on that trip! I would luv' to finally meet at least one of the SoCal guys... So I am down for Borrego or anywhere else in SoCal.
 
I might be able to tag along if its not tooo far from LA. Gas is getting real pricey.
 
Damn - just committed yesterday to doing the Golf merit badge for two scouts on the 24th. Next time.
 
we have a group of us going to Joshua tree next weekend.
we are meeting at the Dillon rd. Chevron at 9 am off the 10 on Saturday morning.

Gold Coast Crusiers.

nothing knarly, but some secret spots, and possible caving or bouldering and a hike thrown in, we are coming back Sunday.

Maybe we could just do that trail off of I think the Ortega Highway. I have never been and it's a nice midway point between LA and SD. I could probably get a few buddies out there with there rigs if it's that close.

Hmmm, I wasn't thinking of anything overnight but I will keep it in mind. :cheers:
 
My schedule is such, that i cant commit, but i will watch this thread for sure!

If you're still interested heading out to A-B, I'll be heading out there Friday evening. We could meet someplace Saturday morning . . .
 
I am still interested in doing a run. I am up for either A-B or the trail off of Ortega Hwy. Whatever get's more people on the trail.
I know in Borrego there are a good group of trails we could do but I would like more info about the trail off of Ortega. I know it's not much, pretty short and simple but any wheelin' is good wheelin'. The place I am talking about was the first run that people from this group went on together that I unfortunately missed out on last year.

I would really like to nail down a location for a run today so that people who are on the fence could pick a side and I could invite some of my non-cruiser buddies.

The area off of Ortega Highway is called Wildomar OHV, it is a pretty small area only a few square miles and wouldn't take long to see it all. Mostly eroded dirt not many rocks and the only thing out there with any kind of challenge is crazy steep and I have heard of many people who have rolled trying to go down it.It is nearly impossible to go up and even if it was it is only about 100 yds long. I would definitely do Anza instead, not worth the drive.
 
Hmmm, Wildomar is much smaller than I envisioned. I guess AB it is. I have a killer map for Anza anyway!

So Land Crusher, where would you be interested in meeting at? And what trail would you want to do? I am not locked or Slidededdeddee but that hasn't been a problem for me yet, I can hang.:cool: Heck I did Coyote in my Dad's Stock 72' Scout with only a few bottoms out 4 or 5 years ago.
 
So you'll be out Saturday morning? The typical meeting spot is the XL gas station in Borrego Springs.

Give me and time and we'll work out some details.

We don't really have a plan as far as trails go. We were just going to explore Truckhaven, but it's open to whatever everyone wants to do.
 
I could probably be out there by 8:30 Sat morn if I leave at 7:00. and Truckhaven would be cool with me since I have not done it yet. Can you believe that!!!!
Who else are you travling with my 4x buddies could not handle such short notice so I may just have a buddy riding shot gun with me since my GF can't make it either.

So Boston, can you commit yet?

If anyone wants to jump in late for this day run, I am meeting up with LandCrusher'70 and a buddy of his in an FJC Sat morn at the XL gas station in Borrego Springs between 8:00-8:30 AM. And we are running Truck Haven.
