Just had a moment to post before heading out to hike. The jack bracket is really badly pitted under the paint I stripped off. I have four of them on the shelf. All are better than yours. The tool bag brackets are the same. I'm gonna do some scrounging to see if I can find a set of them as well. Stay tuned.

I needed a little pick me up today. My Cat 345 Excavator was having some trouble communicating with the ECM (Electronic Control Module). It's been in the shop since last Friday and now I know why. They had to replace the entire wiring harness. OUCH!
Dave I would replace all that mess with 1 wire to an on and off switch. Makes things easy. I hope this helps.

The older you get the harder the game is to play. However, it does help keep you sharp. 
very nice build. just read it all through. the level of workmanship and OCD are awesome. makes me wish i had the time, opportunity and wallet to redo my 45... again

Is that an official CAT repair facility or a shop for your own equipment?
That's a hell of a shop I think Mark pursued the wrong Vehicles to learn about! 
Just look at the size of that Black Rolling Toolbox! Does that thing have a motor?

Thanks! It is quite expensive to do it like this but manageable. It's one of my dreams the other is to have an old rugged 45

There are 3 different CAT shops around here. Each one is different. The one in Riverside is like walking into a old Disneyland adventure ride. When you walk into some of the buildings, it's like going back in time. They have gadgets and tools I've never seen before. I love getting to be one of the few that get to see this stuff first hand. I wouldn't want to be the rookie that has to clean up the shop though.

I would love to take him there one day if I could ever get him out of the shop.
Funny, I was just thinking we should do dinner one of these days so we can have another talk about playground rules.
