Dave,

This is where you fill the screen with bouncing emoticons!

oil pan is on.

Powderpaint is the way to go! Their prep on the flanges was really pro, masked just the way I asked them. Pan went on super-easy using 7 carburetor mounting studs as guides to hold the gasket in place. For reference, 90116-08042. I use them with needle nose vice grips when I absolutely have to do an on-rig install (I hate them so much I usually pay someone else to do them)

Time to flip this bird and get it on the cart for assembly.

Found you a door stopper. Too funny! It's got green overspray, just like the one you left with me. Twins

Guys, help a cruiser brother out. We need a pic of the stock vertical accel rod that goes from the pedal to the torque rod specific to a 1978. Should look like, and might be, one of these:

I think it's the bottom one Mark

So do I. I will go ahead and get one of mine plated. Yours will show up sooner or later.

Got the block back on the cart today, chased all the head bolt holes, but ran out of time to install the head; Too busy packing.

The Dr. said I can't clean parts for a while :bang:

Ouch again!!

Dianna wouldn't volunteer to clean parts ... And I wouldn't ask...

But, look close to home... :hmm:

Yeah, give my thread a rest Dave... It's too dangerous to attempt to follow from home :poof:

Progress. Installed the head yesterday. By the accents, you'd think these came from the same place. :hmm:

Head gasket required a minor tweak to clear the bolt that serves the oil passsage:
