I got my official notice of the recall three months ago and finally made time to go by Lexus after not getting another notification as promised. I spoke with the lady who is in charge of the list at my local dealership and can say that I am #252. Most of the vehicles currently being serviced are the RX models but I'm Finally in line to get my California/Florida sun beat Dash Replaced. Anyone else taking advantage of the campaign or received their notice?

I haven't received a notice, but I have an '07 (dash is ok so far, not sure if it's affected by the recall) and I'm not sure Lexus knows I have it...I bought it private party/used.

They should know if you have registered the vehicle in your name. Being a 07 it may not be a part of the recall but I can't be sure on that.

I brought my 05 with 150k miles on it in last week, the dash wasn't bad but i noticed a small crack near the passenger air bag section after some really hot and humid weeks this summer.
They said they are going to replace the dash and that it is back ordered but should take about a month to get in.
I have attached a picture of the crack in my dash.

Hmm. I'll have to look over mine. Looks like it's for 03-08.

I got my third letter, just havent had time to go in. I have a big crack going around my speedo.

I am getting mine scheduled. Saw my first cracks above the glove box and above the stereo unit.

LOL!

Sorry, my LOL was in response to Hoosier Daddy's speedo comment, but it didn't show up in my quote, and I I can't edit my post. I'm not used to this new version of V Bulletin.

I'll have to take a picture of mine when I get a chance. It looks like a spider web and I actually very dangerous if the passenger air bag goes off. I was originally going to get the dash wrapped but this couldn't of been better news.

The MANY cracks on my '04 dash start on the left side of the gauges and go across the air bag of the passenger side. I know the temp in Chattanooga hasn't been anywhere near as bad as some of you guys experience, but I have had the dash literally fall off in a few places. Nothing more than the size of a dime but still doesn't feel very good when it happens just sitting at a red light. But I was called by my dealer the other day and he said they had just started getting the dash in for the GX so it shouldn't be more than a few weeks.

When I bought mine in June it already had the cracks. I recently read about this recall but I haven't received a letter and don't know if I will or not. The previous owner may have gotten one but never took it in. I'll probably just call the dealer service dept and ask them about it. Definitely want to get it fixed.

I should be linked to the VIN if it was done/needs to be so just go get it checked and no worries.

i have received no letters, but i have been into the dealer, and they have documented it and submitted it to lexus and gotten an approval. now we are just waiting on parts becoming available. i have heard of some people already having theirs replaced, but my dealer keeps telling me that lexus has not even started making the dashes for the GX yet. apparently this is a pretty widespread problem with toyota/lexus as there are several vehicles affected by this issue; camry, 4runner, rav4, es, gs, rx, gx... and they are rolling out production in phases and waves. the first wave was to go back through all records and look at all dashes that have already been replaced, and check and see why? -vehicle accident, stolen car, or if the customer wanted the dash replaced because of cracking, etc etc. and then they have to determine if the dash was cracked before the "other" cause of replacement, and if so then they will issue a refund... thats phase 1. then once that is done phase 2 will start and that will be with replacements one vehicle type at a time...

My dealer says they replace 2 a week which is all they are allowed to schedule due to how time consuming it is.

I don't know what to say. I have called two other dealers (Lexus of Seattle and Lexus in Eugene OR) and both of them have also said that the parts are not yet available for the GX... And that they can only just take my info at this time.

I really need to see about getting mine done. Its pretty fxxxed. Worst spot is above glovebox, but the entire thing has cracks in it. My closest dealer is about 2.5 hour drive.
