Anybody use one and have input as to the quality, fit or anything else relevant before I order one for my 85 pickup? I'm seeing the accuform ones for around $80 - $100.

Also I need some help with options for repairing or replacing my plastic bezel that goes around the auto shift levers. It is brittle and keeps breaking every time I try to touch it. If I can't find a replacement I will have to repair it or try to make one out of aluminum. I'd prefer to purchase one.
Are the ones for a manual tranny the same as for an auto?

What color is your interior?

It is blue but I don't care about color matching. I just don't like looking at the rather large cracks.

I just found a company that sells the molded carpet for the whole dash instead of just an ABS overlay for the right hand side. It might be a better option. Either one would be a major upgrade for my truck.

The truck has sat outside for many years in the dry desert sun. All the interior plastics are easily broke, chaulky or can crumble. It's the price we pay for no rust!

One more question. What do they mean by "fits only models with the long tray?"
They talking about an ash tray?

This is the "long tray" dash pad:

This is the "short tray" pad:

Note the difference in the "tray" that is formed in the top of the pad. They used the long tray pads from 1984 until somewhere in 1986, then they switched to the short tray pad. They are not interchangeable, unless you also switch out the bezel around the dash cluster. Note the long tray pad has a more angular profile where the pad and bezels meets:

The short tray pad is more rounded:

I have that short tray pad in my truck now. Reason I asked about color is I still have that long tray pad and bezel in my garage, in gray, and I don't need them anymore. They came out of my '84 Xtra cab, and are still in excellent condition, just dirty.

I gave up on fixing my shifter bezel, got one from a junk truck, and it also crumbled apart. All this plastic is just too darned odd and brittle. I have no bezel now, looks kinda ghetto. Probably next summer I'm gonna fit up a Tuffy console, they try to fab up some sort of bezel out of sheet steel that I'll tack together, then cover in fiberglass, sanded and painted to match the rest of the interior.

Thanks for taking the time to explain that. Much appreciated.
I just went out and looked and my dash is the long tray style.
PM on the way.

I have a "dash topper" brand dash cover that I love. Got it from my Toyota dealer. 40 bucks. Seriously, you would be amazed on some of the things that are cheap and also still available. There are numerous interior pieces that are still available. Just gotta pick up the phone or make a little trip

TRUE!

The interior on my 4Runner is brown. It seems like every time I needed something I could only get gray, if I could get it at all. Recently I broke a window crank. So I walk in to the dealer expecting to order a gray handle. Fella behind the counter asked me what color. I say brown. He says OK. I'm dumbfounded. I order two.

i carpeted and love it. or did until i stole the radio from my rnr for my 80. it had a remote, so i put a chunk of velcro on the remote and could just slap it on the dash. same with my phone. carpet held it all.

I put carpet over my dash- It looks great! Also, instead of the shiftier bezel, I took a cheap floor mat from pepboys and cut around the shift boots. While not perfect, it did let me add cup holders from a Land Rover.
