The bezel is upside down and missing, :D :D

looks good Dan, how about a SPRPTS license plate??

Great Idea on the license plate.

I don't always put a bezel on my project rigs (until they are road worthy.)

But when I do

I make sure it is on correct.

Making progress.

Driveshafts installed.
Fuel tank drain plug installed.
Found the carburetor leaked like a sieve. Took it apart and cleaned it and it purrs like it should.
Time to straighten out some wiring and routing.

Hi all,

Holy sh*t!

That gas leakage is dangerous! :frown:

Glad you got on top of it before an engine fire occurred! :D

Regards,

Alan

This rig runs Great!

It is by far the best running 2F I have ever driven.

The neighbor drove it and thinks it has a V8.

Now I just have to get the brakes working.

And then it will be time to place a bezel on it.

Haven't checked in on this thread in a LONG time. Looks like something dhondagod would have done on a dare!;p

Dan, the fitting on the top of the carb that you have plumbed as your inlet is actually the return line. There is a restrictor inside the bolt. It works both ways! IOW, if you find you have issues with the motor cutting out at higher speeds, you will need to resolve this.

Best

Mark A.

Ok, I just spent a day straightening a hood with a torch/hammer/dolie, and the one "out of the shed" looks better, I can't bitch though the windshield in my fj40 came out of your shed...

Looking good Dan, I liked the rat rod look, you keep going you will end up with a nice driver fj40,

Btw I have a gallon of fleet white here, I will donate to the cause...if you want it...

Looking good Dan, just a thought have you ever had a stock fj40??

My first one was stock but it was rolled before I bought it. I built it up.

I figure it is time for a stock one.

This is actually a practice build.

I will be restoring my stock 1962 rig next. My goal is for it to turn out as good as FJFJFJ's rig but that is just a goal.

The perpetual motion thing happened.

The gasket on the fuel sending unit fell apart. I pulled the seat and found two broken bolts on the sending unit. Drilled them out, made a new gasket.

I need to move the shifter hole about 1" to the rear. I also need to make the hole smaller in the tranny hump.

I had a hard time lining the tub up with the frame body mounts. While putting the front driveshaft in I noticed the additional bracket on the transmission was against the tub and creating tension.

I decided to pull the transmission hump. Three of the captured nuts spun and 2 bolts broke.

I have the weld on nuts but ran out of daylight.

I modified the bracket so I now have 2wd low. Sweet!

Time to wait for some daylight to weld the nuts on.
