Hey guys, been lurking a while on the pig forum but just now getting started to work on mine.
Bought the Dakar/ome kit for cruiser outfitters for my pig and the instructions just say "move rear shackle mount". Does anyone know how far to move it, or is it just back it up until the shackle is straight?

After i got it together, i then decided it didnt look right and i consulted the instructions. HA

I moved mine 5" and they work well.
You're going to like these springs, one of the best changes I made to mine.
Good luck and post more pictures..

Perfect, 5" seems to be the consensus, so i will go with that.

Did you keep the whole leaf pack as is or remove a leaf? These seem super heavy for my use, i dont intend to have much in the back besides maybe people.

Originally I remove two of the lower heavy springs and it leveled it out nicely with the supplied front OME springs from @cruiseroutfit, after I added a 50 gal fuel tank I put them back in.

No weird gotcha's with welding them on either is there? Just stick weld on both sides?

I just drilled new holes and bolted them on with grade 8, 3/8”-16 bolts, not a big fan of stick welding on a frame, a couple tack welds would be all you need if you bolt them too.

Perfect, that is the info i needed guys, thanks! I got my kit from cruiser outfitters too, so i will start out removing two of the lowers as well to get mine level and see where it sits. It is still running the OEM fuel tank, well it will be when i can get the mounting straps to put the tank back in it. Mine are gone... go figure

Did you get the FJ55 parts diagram that came with the kit? It should have been stapled to your invoice or in with the packing slip. Edit: It looks like somewhere along the road the note on rear hanger movement didn't end back up on that diagram. 5" is the number we have always used, some do 4.75.

Awesome! I figured something got lost in transit, I'm certainly not upset about it. Just wanted to get the right info

@cruiseroutfit

This pack he’s considering removing leafs from, is it a heavy kit?

I have your kit on my near term To
Do list and I want the lightest spring pack you sell.

If he got heavy I can see removing a leaf or two.

Any 55 without some decent rear weight (rack, bumper, fuel tanks, etc) will need springs removed. We generally recommend 2 on a lighter vehicle. Most kits we are shipping are the medium load, only a rare few have warranted a heavy loading.
