I played in a jazz band in High School and we finished every concert with The Final Countdown. We would play like 3-4 songs of bee bop, smooth jazz, big band jazz, etc . . . then bam - - The Final Countdown as loud as we could - -it was actually pretty fun - we would raise pitch like a half step during it
OK - nerd moment over!
I played in stage band in Jr High, Final Countdown did not exist I got kicked out of the band in early 9th grade for spraying Binaca mouth spray on a bunch of mouth pieces and reeds at a break in a concert. It was beyond funny and well worth it. I did not miss band in High school.

Ahhhh LOL nice work. I remember having Binaca - - too funny. Everyone carried that stuff around in say '84+ at my middle school and into high school.
Final Countdown was released the Feb '86 according to the interwebs. I guess that would have been Frosh year in HS.
I played football all four years, so I never had to do marching band LOL - hated it. I was rowdy enough to do something like the Bianca thing, just not clever enough

I was one of those kids that was always into something. My grandmother lived with us and would laugh quietly while my mother was disciplining me for the latest infraction. To quote my grandmother "Dennis the Menace has nothing on you kid".
