When I used to live in Japan, I was shocked to see so many Land Cruisers and Mitsubishi Pajero's set up this way. Like here in the US, its more about getting attention than improving off road capability. I certainly never saw a rig like that when I was on the trails there. Always wondered how a set up like that would work on the narrow roads that are throughout Japan. That pic brings back memories.
One of these is not like the others.

Having spent 32 of my years as a certified card-carrying red-headed-step-child, I've grown a thick hide.
We used the same measure in the British, German and Eye-talian bike shop I worked at, and in an Aviation forge shop I worked in for years. All the more reason I should have gotten the joke in a time frame somewhat less than a week.
