So I took my Lx470 to the Toyota dealership to have the Cv boots changed on on of my axles. I bought the Cv boot kit from another Toyota dealer and then decided to have the dealer near me do the repair. They just called and said the boots don't fit and that I have a after market Cv shaft. Does anyone know if this is true? Should the boots all be the same?

If it's true that you have an aftermarket CV, no clue. But, aftermarket CVs often have smaller bells and joints. Only way to reboot one of those is take it place that specializes in CVs and would have a wide variety of boots on hand to try.

Maybe the OEM boot doesn't fit on that aftermarket shaft. I know my local Toyota dealerships sells and installs aftermarket boots/shafts together as a package.
