welcome! yes, the cove is full of boulders and they are the stickiest rocks ive ever wheeled on. you can climb obstacles that would be totally impossible around where i live.
prices on tons have gotten steep for sure, even for stuff that needs completely rebuilt. if we needed a driver drop ford 60 for the front, it would cost even more. keep looking, deals are out there, i picked both of mine up for $1500 with 5.13's, full spools front and rear, and discs already on the 14 bolt.

Bad ass trail man. Your rig works awesome. Cage looks great. Notice a difference in weight? The low rear over hang must be a HUGE improvement. You should come up to Rausch Creek. Would be killer to wheel with you.
Where is that music coming from in the video? And did you dove tail the front? Or is it just trail modified?

didnt notice much difference, it felt a lil better on the off camber stuff but i still almost flopped coming out of insanity at the cove. only thing that stopped me was the rock slider caught the top of a rock and kept it on two wheels.
the music was just the guys i ride with, we all ran that trail and they were watching with the music turned up in one of the jeeps. didnt dove the front, just trail modded. both sides are smashed in to the inner structure lol.
funny you mention Rausch Creek, we just talked about it on this trip. we plan two out of state trips every year and we have hit everything within 6hrs basically. we were looking at Rausch Creek and possibly AOAA in the near future. i will definitely let you know if we get one planned up there.

How was Chaos Off Road? I hear the rocks are bigger than The cove?
Chaos was great. they didnt have everything developed yet but theres lots of potential. very large rocks but they are scattered around the property. the setup there is a lil different than most places ive been, they have shorter trails and then they have just massive obstacles on their own in random places. you can drive stock vehicles right up to most of the obstacles and watch. the guy that owns Chaos Fab (AK) is awesome and we had a great time wheelin with him. he has big plans for a couple other locations as well.

Sweet!! 80 looks great. Cage looks perfect

I plan on being at Rausch in July for the Coal Mine Cruiser Classic.

Ok no worries.

Are you going to King Knob WV 4th of July weekend, looks like I will be there for SRRS?

...and i finally got fed up with my brakes so ive been working on that. i got some caliper brackets from a guy on pirate to bolt up some chevy 3/4 ton calipers and get rid of those stupid dana 60 calipers. i dont think they have ever worked properly. i also got a 99 dodge 2500 master cylinder to replace the old chevy 1 ton master. then, while i was in there, i put on the electric line locks that have been laying in my garage for 6 months.

ok, i picked up an m6x1 40mm bolt to replace the factory booster push rod because it wasnt long enough for the dodge master and got it all adjusted properly. i have been bleeding the brakes forever and cannot get a pedal at all with the truck running (its somewhat soft without the truck running). i gravity bled, bled by pumping the pedal, and then used my reverse bleeder to bleed them that way. i have run at least 3 quarts of fluid through it and its not really any better. i blocked off the ports on the master today and the pedal is hard as a rock with the truck off and running so i believe the master is good and doesnt need bled any more. also, the ABS and proportioning valve are no longer in the system. any thoughts? just need to keep bleeding?
