Has anyone cut off the airflow to the center cooling console?
Will it affect the main A/C components for the dash to work properly?
For example, will it affect the compressor? My compressor is dead and before I buy a new one I want to make sure it's ok that the cooling console has been eliminated and that the pressure won't overload the compressor?
Thank you

We didn't get these in the states, but from what I understand of the circuit, it's blocked when the cooler's off, so yes it would seem to be OK. Shortening the cooling loop won't increase the pressure, only a pipe diameter reduction will do that. The only effect will be less refrigerant required when servicing. :)

Hot and cold air are moved by a separate blower fan motor, the the a/c compressor. It will not hurt a thing

I think he's referring to the cooler in the console option

Thank you so much! Yes, this is very helpful.
