Look great! I have a home made platform for about 30.00. I would love to have one your drawers. Thanks for doing for folks who can afford it.

@scrowley, I dig these drawers a lot! But looking at your pictures, am I correct in understanding that you omitted the drawer slider rails? I was just looking around the forum trying to figure out where to buy them and I'm assuming they're not a cheap date. If they can be left out and still have pretty solid drawers, that be great!

Bravo I checked out another Mud member's 80 with Crowley's drawers and they looked great. IMO they're more snug, offer more room, and make less noise on the road without the slider rails. The action was fine on the drawers.

my $0.02

I'm pulling a side budget together for these drawers, hope to pull the trigger soon.

The more I look at that design the more I like it. If you put a nice sturdy latch, there's no fear of them working themselves loose or anything. Plus it's way more cost effective!

Just about wrapping up another storage unit for a mud member, hamishpotter. This unit will be wrapped in a tuape/tan carpet. 6 tie down anchors, drawere dividers, locking pulls latches, and a tight fit!

**** I cut all the pieces needed to make 3 more sets of storage units while building this set. So if anyone is interested the lead time would be cut down to 1.5 - 2 wks. insted of 3 - 4 wks.

I would like to see a quote from an audio shop. IMO NO way on $500-$700 They are not going to design and build a one off unit, weather seal it, hardware, carpet it, mount it, etc. for that. At least not here in New England or anywhere I hope. Well maybe one built in China. Ha

there's no doubt as to the quality and workmanship of your product. for some on a budget, you can probably sell the "blueprint" and list of materials...

base $1300 !!! I am not knocking workmanship or materials used, it looks awesome and I know there is time involved but for what sounds like $1500 or $1600 with add ons , SHEWWWWW!!!!!! I found a used set of weathergaurd aluminum drawers 9" tall 46" wide and 48" long for $150. you best believe they will be modified , carpeted and my drawers when finished

I agree with noecia, if you had plans prints and instructions, GOOD ONES !, I would prob buy them and build it myself. surely worth $100 for prints. I think a lil too mudh profit in there myself. If it takes that long for you to build them, well then ................................ if you are making 8 or 900 on a set to cover your labor and sell two a year, wldnt you rather sell 25 sets of prints and do barely nothing. new england? let me guess, union

Rollingstone. I am not going to sell prints. If you have the capability, tools, and time to build these storage drawers you shouldn't need any prints. The pics kind of tell all. Let me know how yours comes out

Working on them now amd by the way , I do have the skills , tools and obviously not as much time as you but I will get them done. You seem to have taken my comments in a degrative way, not so , simply observations and suggetions, you did a great job on those units. My build is in a completely different direction as to storage drawers so I dont need any prints from anyone. I am a fabricator not a sawdust sniffer HA no harm meant HA My suggestion for prints was geared to those that needed help. If I had built those I would share the plans with anyone who wanted them. I do this for fun and sport , I have other means of making money much more than a set of drawers could EVER bring in.

Finished up another set of box's for a mud member. I installed them this evening. I used a taupe color carpet with black hardware. It matched very well. Here are a few pics:

^^^^^ 2 months! And your saying my box's are too much...lol. I did quick pricing on your built in. That build including materials, build, finish, and install would be approx. $9k- $11k. 2.5 wks to complete. And yet you spent $500 materials.

I do have template for my unit. i did not price these units to make a killing. I actually make more $ on customers remodel projects. But I sure like building something for Toyota lovers much better. I hope to keep building them for ppl. So keep the orders coming.

Oh, and I have pics of carpet samples I haven't uploaded yet.

hey scrowley, really impressive stuff you do...one thing I'd like to now, as I try to learn from the best: How do you typically fixate the construction in the car? Thanks for the help!

Fixed through 3rd row seat bracket fasteners.

I just started a storage unit for 4th gen 4runners. Should be done tomorrow except paddle latches ( need to order) and carpet. I did this last min as I had a couple days to spare on a project. I will be carpeting black with locking pull latches, and 4 tie down anchors.

Does anyone else have photos of what they use to sleep on top of one of these? I am curious what it would cost to ship to New Orleans area. Also if you don't add one of the side "flaps" will Phils Puma mount still fit?

Scrowley...very nice work. I commend you for taking the high road with a lot of the "overpriced" comments. I can also do the woodworking myself, but I'm more from the camp wanting to thank you for being willing to share a really nice design. I, for one, was planning to use HD drawer slides. But your, and others, comments have me rethinking this. If someone thinks it's too much money, then no one is forcing them to buy one. I know you have quite a few hours into these. Good luck with sales!

BTW...do the drawers slide easy due to the sealant, or did the bare wood slide easy too? I think I may go this route. Also, if you don't mind sharing, I would love to know what your using to attach carpet? Thx.
