Awesome! Youre almost ready to pull in the next victim! Do you have one lined up yet? I was thinking of you while driving my 60 today, wondering what I would do with the brake/clutch pedal once its converted to auto. I see it looks like you swapped in a 62 brake pedal, which is what i assumed is the best way to go. I cant wait to get started on mine these pics are killer!

There are a few more victims on the waiting list ;)

But first, I’ve got a few old school projects to knock out. Has me wanting to go back to a 2F. Almost :grinpimp:

Last up were connecting the Speedhut gauges. There’s more discussion of them over in this thread: Speedhut Gauges in your 60... wow!

We did a quad gauge on the left (oil pressure, voltage, water temp, fuel), trans temp in the middle, and a GPS speedo/tach combination gauge on the right.

The water temp sender & pressure thread right in with an adapter. For the trans temp, I welded a bung for the sender to the pan:

4 Plus/ lcwizard offers some nice mounts to locate the gauges in the factory holes...

After a good bit of wiring and calibration, they were up and running. If you send full time 12V to the speedo, it remembers its last satellite location and acquires a signal instantly. At no time could I tell it was GPS - it worked as good/responded as smoothly as any stock speedo. And automatically corrects for tire size.

Definitely adding these to my truck’s wish list!

To make sure everything worked, after putting on some city miles and checking all of the fluids & hose connections, I took it on a 500 mile road trip down to Jackson, MS to eat lunch with friends from the CottonLand Cruisers club.

The truck did great. Between the quiet exhaust, new tires, and the tight truck, this is the quietest 60 I’ve ever been in. It has zero sound deadening and I was able have phone conversations while going 85 and have no problem talking.

Funny story, later in the day, I got a phone call from Custer saying he was tracking me at 72 mph (I shared my iPhone location during the test drive so he could see his truck moving).

Thoroughly confused, I said no, I was going about 82, but wondered how he knew...

It turns out I blew right past him on the interstate (I didn’t recognize his truck) on my way home.

He was on vacation and was swinging through Memphis to pick it up, and was arriving a day or so early.

After a laugh, we found a rest area to pull over so he could check it out and drive around the parking lot.

Then the trans/tcase was removed

Since I was juggling multiple projects, I clicked the easy button and sent the tcase to Georg. It comes back nice & clean, freshly rebuilt, and attached to the adapter.

In this case, we’re using the Advance Adapters Splitcase/4L60E Adapter.

To actually mate it to the transmission, you need to pull the tailhousing, install the 4 bolt adapter, and trim the output shaft...

I did the same with mine. Sent it to Georg and came back all pretty. One of the most puckerable moments in life for me was putting the cutting wheel to that shaft and taking several inches off of it..... It fit tho so hope it all works like it should!

Sloppy thirds?

Custer passed this one along to my buddy Brian that owns The Delta Beast that both Cam and I have gotten VD from.

Brian decided this thing did not fit his lifestyle and sold it to his buddy Bird.

Yep. Name is bird. He’s 6’8”. Last winter I built him a truck for his bike shop in Brevard NC

He was apparently happy with that truck and got in line to do some upgrades to this one.

I think I can go bareback into this one though. Cam was clean when he did this one.
