Hello All, Its been about a month since my last post, and I do have some new info for you all.

Since I sent my truck up to portal tek, I have changed my plans for the vehicle slightly. Unfortuantally, the 3" body lift and the slee 6" lift are going away in favor for a coilover setup with the blisteen blackhawks, which means a little more fabracation up front and in the rear. this should give me maximum wheel travel with out tipping me over because of how tall I would have been.

Then out with the new tires and wheels for some new tires and wheels. I have put about ohh.. maybe 3000 miles on the krawlers. Ive washed my junk more than i have been able to drive it. So im looking at a new set from Hutchinson Wheel, in a 17" flavor. preferable a 17x10. with what ever the nessary backspacing is for the portals.

As far as the tires go, I need something that will give me an all around usage, mud, dirt, snow,(when i can find it) rocks, etc. I really liked the Krawlers, but i hear they dont do to well in the mud or snow.. which is ok, because I dont see to much ouf that out here. but i also am told they have thin sidewalls, and can be sliced through easily. So, Ive been loking at Maxxis Creepy Crawlers in the 40x13.5x17 size. From everything that i read, they seem to do the trick, and they will give me another 3" over the Krawlers.

Does anyone here have any experience with thiese tires. ?

or should I just stay with the krawlers? The ones i have on there now are the blue label.

I never own a Crepy C set .. but I saw in a mate CJ with a V8 engine and do well but they wear heavy .. One more thing that I read in the side wall of the CC it's that they recomend use it ( I'm talking about 37" X 13.5 R15 ) 14" wide wheels  Could be the reason that they wear pretty fast at the middle ..

Never saw working a set of Krawlers .. but looks to me the best overal performance tire .. ( based on reviews that I read, pics and videos )

other than a talk last month and a few changes here and there, ... I know nothing... tried calling, and assume they are buzy working on her. its been pretty quiet for a month now. too far away to stop by and say hi, so, Ill try again later this afternoon. btw, has daylight hours kicked in yet?

All right, Well, they are still working on everything. Called and got ahold of Russ, Sounds like everything is going as planned. Just have to wait and see. Still a long way off yet. 2 or 3 more months before things start comming togeather.

i just have to say that i'm really doubting, IMHO, that it's worth this long of a wait for a set of axles.

At this point, If it were just for a set of axles I would agree with you. The axles are done and are being put togeather. The rear axle is the easy part, But getting the correct measurments for the front is either it works or it doesent. So I sent it up north to have it done right. I only had about 2 inches on either side of the transmission and frame rail to get it right. This way i dont have to cut into the transmission pan or frame rail.

Then after talking too much with Rob, I made a few changes here and there to the truck. So its no longer just about the axles. its going to be a complete transformation. Im going to have work done to the engine, so they are going to pull that, while they have that out.. Im going to have them paint the body and then rino it inide and out. no more carpet. and some frame work. So what I would have had in a month or two, Is now extended for a few more months.

But I will be sure to keep you posted on the happinings, As the progress starts up again.

AS long as there are pics you can take as long as you like. Have Rob send a few/post a few pics.

I hope that you get it soon. Sounds like a cool deal. Those Axles are really cool....

OK, i thought you were doing the work and you were just waiting on the axles to be finished and shipped. I understand the delay now.

god cant wait for this thing to be done I wanna see some inspirational pics

it is now 7 months past my last post where I had difficulty understanding what could be taking so long. 25 months to deliver a set of axles is absolutely absurd. or is there more to the story...

well, Its still ended up being 25 or so months to procure the axles, but its now more than just axles at this point. I have a few other people working on other parts of the truck now.
There will be some fabercation done, a new paint job, .. and I will figure another 8 months before I start to see everything come togeather. so, Hopes are for my frist trip out to be in January 2009. and some new pictures by june.

geeze, wouldn't it be just terrible to break an axle on your first trip out!! Might take 4 years to replace it.

ha ha .. dont say that... they better not break. youve seen the mask... if he got tail pipes to fit., why not axles.

holy carp(fish)!!!!
that's an awesome build, don't think I could sit that long.

Sweet build.

You are one hell of a patient man (customer). My customers have a s*** fit if I'm a few hours over when I said I'd have something done.

well, At this point, alls I can do is wait. I have already invested the initial purtchase price into her, then upgraded her, then tore her apart.... If I pull out now, I wont have anything except an empty bank account and a bunch of landcruiser parts laying around wondering what the hell am i waiting for.. although, I do have a bunch of landcruiser parts laying around wondering that.,.. I just dont have the rest of her to look at.

So, at this point, alls i can do is wait, and wait, and wait,..and hope some day she will be put back togeather again. and maybe she will send me a picture, or two.
