That's it...and it looks like they haven't touched it :(

If that was my rig, Psssh I wont even go there. To each his own. I'm expecting a fully caged Coiled over 4-linked front and rear custom everything on 46"tires, crawler, gears, and more. I only hope that picture is 8months old, or that that's not your rig. Talk about parking your money...literally. It's been said and I'll say it again, you are a patient man.

Went to Portal tech's web site and they list a utah phone number
Portal-Tek L.L.C.
801-589-2028

no address. is listed and no one ever answers the phone

the phone book has them as unlisted so you cant get an address.

So I go to the Utah dept of Corporations and it shows that Portal Tech is delinquent (2 years) in re-registering their business with the State. the state is now the registered agent.

If anyone has a physcial address for them I would love to go by and have a look at the 'project'

Just located this thread and read the whole thing, damn what an animal this 80 will be! I agree with everyone here man, when they say you have a lot of patience! Here's hoping you get some progress soon and we can see a 6BT powered 80 rolling on portals. Kudo's to you for having the balls to start this build-up!

It would seem like a call to Portal tech is in order. Looks like wheels off an old 40 have opted for newer cruiser.

wanna sell the 6 inch lift?

Heres a :wrench:
Maybe this will help.

So I drove past the Portal Tek during lunch and the 80 is in the shop under a cover saw the back end and the white steel spoke wheels. It seems that someone gave them a heads up. They were actively working on a tube buggy and there were a number of FJ40s in the lot but I did not see the missing bead locked 37s.

I have to ask, what is it that justifies portal tek having the rig for over a year without seemingly doing any work on it? As a customer in that situation I would be fit to be tied. As a business owner I cant imagine taking money from a customer and not delivering for over a year.

So the big Question is: "What information are we missing?":confused::confused::bang:

Any update on this thread?

As a former ID/UT resident, I usually like to think of southeast Idaho/Utah as above usual standards when it comes to honesty. Good western mountain folk, I likes to think. Yet when I see this, it hurts.

When some people are are given money and no oversight/prompting/motivation..... they just take the money, and do nothing. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. No squeaky = no grease/attention. This is made much more difficult by your not being in town: they may feel they can act without fear.

Why does this business use an unlisted number? In order to grow, a business must advertise. Doing the opposite implies the opposite: that they're trying to hide from customers. The state business listing doesn't count, those are public records. The fact that the business registry listed phone number is ignored only reinforces this.

Unfortunately, this means I'll never buy from Portaltek, as I don't live in their town and can't harass them to get my work done.
And what do I tell people when they ask where to get portal axles and such?

Without meaningful resolution, and without Portaltek chiming in with their side of the story, this whole situation makes portaltek look very bad.

No updates since last month, called and left messages, nothing.. my paitence has run out, but now, I have no time or gas money to go up there. My project has been put on hold for so long, that funds have went to other places, kids, new bills and such....
...
Although, I have noticed they have revamped thier website. as of June 17th. Lots of new and wonderfull projects going on, and some old. but nothing on mine.

Well, time to go, too buzy with lifes other demands right at the moment to worry about a truck thats not going anywhere at the moment.

Hopefully something happens soon, If not, Ill be pulling the plug in the next few months, make some time and go get my junk, and get some axles from somewhere else.

That's some sad news mate. I would be seriously :censor: off! Hope something works out for you.....whatever happens. :)

Dude Seriously!! I have to put my foot down for you on this one WTF is wrong with you?? I ust read through this thread and am wondering why you or someone else hasnt locked and loaded heading for this place like 10 months ago???:confused:

If you dont want your truck i'll go pick it up and take it:D not to mention punch everyone within range of that place in the balls!!

At this point even if you really start doing some s*** you are probably in for a long wait getting any work or your money back,i would flip the fxxx out by now:bang::mad::crybaby::whoops::censor::doh:

I think that sweet stuff you see in the gallery of there site was built with your money.
