I'll be heading up Fri morning... probably convoy with Rick C. Route is up 985 through Clayton and over the mountain. Straight shot that took me just under 3hrs. (that ride over the mountian at 35 mph slowed me down)

Let us know if you want to join the convoy.

Steenh

I'll be leaving Friday afternoon after work. I go up hwy 11 West Union, SC to White Water past Bad Creek to Hwy 107. I'll see you there.

Steen is on target. Probably meet at the BP right at the turn from 107 towards the trails, like last time. ETA is likely around 11 am at the BP.

One group for camping and going in. Splitting up groups has been tricky in the past and with the cold weather I'd rather everyone go in at one time. Late people can crash at the cabin and meet up with the camping crew Sat to camp Sat night. I will let Matt and Rick work on a departure time.

I guess I'll have to crash at the cabin Friday night, can't miss classes to make it there by 11am.

Rick and Matt have yet to set a time. Just an idea.

Marshall, I'm thinking we'll get to the BP around 10:30 - 11:00. I posted that up in the other thread. Still haven't heard back from Matt since he went up this weekend. We certainly have some flexibility on this, but I wanted to reinforce your statement about not breaking up into more than two groups. I keep updating the first post on the "Cullowhee Winter Campers, line up" thread. Read and let me know if I am contradicting your thoughts on this.

Alk - Shoot me a PM if you're going up later on Friday. I'll be in the same boat if you want to caravan.

Sounds good.

My sweetie is making noises about wanting to come along. We will still cabin but might tent outside, have a little privacy.
But I'm sure we won't be able to come up before late(ish) Friday night. Will that work?
Anyone coming Saturday morning?

People can come and go at the cabin whenever. There is a rock ring in the front yard so I will bring some fire wood for inside and out. And if you bring an extension cord you can run it from the house.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make this one. For anyone who is borderline about the trip, I definitely say go! It is a wonderful place and any stock Cruiser can handle it.

Have fun guys!

Marshall - my wife just decided that she wants to go on this trip. I can talk to you more about it this weekend. She would like to stay in the cabin but we will sleep on the floor since we are newbies.

There's that possiblility with us, mainly if we camp. I wouldn't be able to leave until six or later Friday (after work) and if we camp I don't want to be setting up in the dark. Or for that matter moving into the cabin after people are turning in.
Anybody got the travel time to this place?
b

PS here's a good opportunity for me to answer the question that's been burning me: What does SOA mean?

i am definitely going to try on this one . . . this trip sounds more open for me to have time to do it. I'll let you guys know later, in about a week.
