Cruiserparts.net, anyone else had issues dealing with them lately?

Ordered an axle shaft that I need yesterday... did it priority mail hoping it would get here in a few days. Come to find out the part won't fit in the box (so why give me the option?) so they shipped it slow UPS. Now my cruiser is stuck in the garage for a week while it snows like the dickens outside and I am forced to drive my beater car. Not too happy....

Add me to the list of mixed results. Ordered a front wheel bearing kit for the 80 and a 54mm socket. Specified UPS shipping but shipped USPS. I received the bearings, lock ring and socket but no gaskets or seal. I've contacted them so we'll see how it plays out.

Ordered a used warm pull knob. Contacted James in advance of the order to confirm it was in stock and in working order. Received within a week as promised and as described. YMMV...

Just updating my issue.

I got a quick response both from my email and related to my post above. They sent the missing parts out the same day and I got them two days later. No hassle or issues. THAT'S the way to handle it! Having said that, I'll order from them again. Thanks again for the quick resolution!

Ordered a replated part. It arrived half plated. Ordered a used air breather part and it's so rusted it's unusable. I'm done with them

Ordered a painted tailgate from them, arrived all damaged and missing clearcoat everywhere. Had to repaint the whole pannel. They only wanted to refund me $100 saying it's been too long before making the claim. Opened a dispute with my credit card issuer and got a refund with them instead. Wrote back a review with pictures on Google Review, they went through Google and deleted my review haha. That kind of business should not be hanging around, worst Internet purchase experience in my entire life. I debated for 3 months.

I ordered a new window belt moulding wednesday of last week. It arrived friday, installed sunday. No problems. The trend I see above tends to relate to used parts mostly...

Ordered a transmission cross member from a 85-87 a week ago. Paid for it, no response. I have tried calling them and no one answers the phone. Tried emailing them and have not gotten a response. Customer service for them is garbage and they should be embarrassed.

I left them a message over a month ago needing a part. Called several times. No answer and no response to my messages.

First time trying to order with these guys, I will never try again. Over priced, terrible customer service. I just needed a fj80 spindle. I called in spoke to Rebeka. She sold it to me USED for $120, $15.60 on the shipping and some funky $5.60 fuel charge and environmental charge $2.04? Bringing my total to $143.24, Told me it would ship out the following day (Wednesday). Waited till friday but still never received an email with tracking. I called and a different rep answered and told me it would not ship till the following week. I told him I was promised it would leave the following day from when I placed my order. Put me on hold, came back and told me it will go out that day but for me to receive it when I was first told I would get it by I needed to pay additional shipping. Told him to hold my order. I then hopped on ebay and found a NEW spindle with bronze bushing for $6 more (INCLUDING SHIPPING TOTAL WAS $150) and it would arrive when I needed it. I will never try ordering with these guys again, I also noticed on their website they have a cancellation fee, I will be contacting my credit card company if they do not remove the fee. THESE GUYS SUCK

I had a somewhat similar experience. I wanted a Slee second battery tray for an upcoming trip, and a few weeks ago the Slee office was on a skeleton crew due to CruiseMoab, so they said they couldn't get me the part in time for my shop to install it.

I saw that cruiserparts had one listed (for $15 more than Slee!) so I ordered it, and payed extra for 2 day shipping to ensure that it would arrive in time (ordered mon or tuesday and wanted it for the weekend, or at least by the monday, and they are only a hundred miles from my house) and in the note mentioned that I needed it by a certain date. Got an email a couple of days later from cruiserparts that stated that because the item was drop shipped that it would likely not be there by the time I needed it.

First off, there is no mention on their site that it is a drop shipped part, why would anyone order from them if they are just a middle man?? Second, I contacted the guy who emailed me and said that I would like to cancel my order, since it would arrive too late to be of use to me. I also asked for a tracking number, and he said that they do not have them for drop shipped items and he said that it was already shipped so it was too late, but that I should send it back to them, and they "would take care if it." Well, first, there is no way they couldn't have canceled at that time, as it didn't arrive for about a week, and second, by "take care of it" he meant that he would charge me shipping and their stupid "restocking fee" (for a new part that they never personally handled!!). Not only could I have just shipped it to Slee and saved the shipping fee, but my refund was down to about $111 from the $165 or so I had spent (plus the $15 50 send it to them).

I have filed a complaint with Paypal and hope to get the rest of my money, but even if I don't, I hope the $55 was worth it, because I will never buy from these unethical jerks again.

I ordered a tailgate from them for my FJ60 two months ago. They sent me a rusted out one. One month ago they agreed to send me a new one. I have been calling and emailing for the last two weeks without response. They are not answering their phones or returning emails. Anyone know if they are still in business?

They seemed to be as of quite recently, they are just really bad at said business.

I'll add my one experience (and last) with them: Ordered a badly needed part online and added the Ih8mud coupon code. Didn't hear anything until over a week later when I was told that they could not give a discount on the part. Told them to cancel. Ok , you don't want to honor the Ih8mud discount that you advertise that's lack of integrity and to wait over a week to tell me no while the part should have arrived by then is poor customer service. No integrity plus poor customer service is a killer for me.

Not good! Their business acumen is not great in my opinion. They have said the parts are in stock and will ship the next day and I've called back on day 3 and 5 and they finally came clean and said they didn't have the parts in stock and I'd have to wait another week. If i had know that I would have ordered them off Rockauto.com and received them in 3 days. I've also had a couple window regulators on order from them for about a month and they have one in stock and the other on back order. I have asked them 3 times to send me the one and when the other comes in ship it out. They have agreed but its been over a week and I'm yet to get shipping confirmation.

I was really hoping for a good experience and enjoy working with small businesses. If they aren't able to update their systems and become more efficient I'm afraid they will always be a small business or even worse, out of business. I ultimately ordered the bearing and seals kit from Rock Auto and received confirmation the same day with shipping number. As much as I like the idea of working with mom and pop, the bigger guys have customer service figured out. I've also had great experience with cruiser corps.

Just my 2 cents.

This forum thread persuaded me to not order a rebuilt 2F from them. After reading all the stories and BBB reports I just couldn't take the risk. Maybe it would have worked out or maybe it wouldn't have, but glad I didn't go that route. Thanks for the heads up!

I placed 2 orders with them, the first on 27th May, and the 2nd about 10 days later, both paid for in full at the time. I cancelled both orders last week and requested a refund, since neither order was shipped, plus they couldn't give me a specific shipping date either. They accepted my cancellation and made a full refund within 3 days.

Though they didn't say so, it appeared to me they didn'nt have some of the parts in their stock at the time they accepted the order, and that's the cause for the delay. Better communication could have made a difference to the otcome.
