Guys and Gals, anyone have any experience with a good 100 series mechanic in Austin or recommendations? Also any experience with Rising Sun on Lamar? I am right down the street from them and they do have a good looking Iron Pig that makes my morning whenever I drive by.

Open to suggestions, about timing belt/pump time for me and need a handful of other things done.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

I just yesterday had the timing belt /water pump/ spark plugs plus more done by Landcruiser Specialists on 183 and Anderson Mill up north. Took a day and cost 1850. Lexus quoted 3400 for the same work.

Call Edwin and he'll set you up.

5 star auto on prairie and Lamar. Ask for Long. He's been taking care of me for years. Tell him that Mike sent you. He knows and will take care of you. Trust me.

I did the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs and fix wire for the knock sensor on my 100 in my garage. I work very slow, it took me two days but I saved around $1400 in labor. It is not that hard to do if you enjoy wrenching.

I would definitely prefer to do it myself (I've done all of the maintenance and modifications to my mustang) but don't have the time or space to do the TB and pump on the 100.

Thanks for all of the direction, huge help. Not much I hate more than finding a new mechanic.

Bearden is good for newer trucks and non-LC Toyota/Lexus cars. Shawn, at Land Cruiser Specialist, really is good with 100's though.

Do they do suspension kits there? It appears we do not have a LC shop down here in SA.

Alamo Auto Doctors is pretty much the only option in SA area or do it yourself.

Thanks,

Great to know. I have been looking at the OME lifts but I think I am still a few months away from getting it done.

I would not get an OME lift. It's more money for lower quality IMO.

Shameless plug, I do sell Terrain Tamer lifts. I do not sell Ironman but that is what I run an on my 80. Both of these are still made in OZ. OME is made in Malaysia.
