Sorry to say I passed Stone and he gave me the knod, at first I did not know who it was until I read it his name on his t-shirt. Caught sight of him twice afterword, he was very busy so I left him to his work.

Met Red Hearing breafly, was looking forward to meeting Bruce and his better half. I saw Mike M, long time since we crossed paths and regret not speaking to him.


Finally met Too Tall and his family, nice rig by the way.


Cheers to all and hope to stay longer next year and catch the run on Sunday.

Hi guys.

Thanks again to everybody who chipped in a bit of their time to make Cruiser Days 2005 a lot of fun. Hopefully next year will be even bigger and better.

Bruce and I pulled into Moberly at 12:30 last night. We spotted a few Cruisers on the way back, saw Henning and even chased a navy blue Troopie in 100 Mile House. Bruce just left Moberly and shall be in Red Deer this evening.

Had a great time. I agree with Deny - 30 hours of travelling was worth it. :cheers: It's awesome to finally put faces to names and was a pleasure finally meeting you Stone, 1FE pig & jfc.

Rob, sorry I didn't klik to your name right away, I think i had seen a pic of you somewhere, and the facial fuzz threw me... could that be? Anyway, as soon as I moved on, it clicked... just in time to see you heading out...LOL. Nice meeting you anyhow! :beer: :beer: :beer:

Long drive, but was a great time

We drove out from Edmonton at 4pm on Friday, slept for 3 hours at a rest stop, stopped at Denny's for breakfast, found some coffee and got to the show at about 9:15am.

It was a great time. It was the first event I had ever been to and I'd never seen that many cruisers in one spot before. The camping that night was great and I don't think I've ever been to a more beautiful "campsite". I only wish I'd brought my fishing gear! :(

We left at 9am Sunday morning and got home at midnight (we took the scenic route).

Lots of driving, a little bit of sleep and a lot of fun. Looking forward to going again next year.

I was thrilled to be able to attend cruiser days in my own cruiser... It was nice to meet so many happy and friendly people. I have seen your names and handles on the posts and now I have faces to put to those names. The campout was awesome and spontaneous. I have never wheeled on my own before, and in my own cruiser - never the less, however I was reasurred that the drive in was going to be tame and I wouldn't "hurt" my new truck. :eek: All went fairly well on the drive in, except for the rock that pinged my windshield and left a nice crack smack dab in front of my line of sight :mad: We ended up driving down this really neat, narrow trail and pulled out into a great wide open, totally private and very serene lake. We chatted around the tikki torches into the wee hours of the morning... Lots of laughs and silly stories. I unfortunatley had to be back at work by noon. Had a quick cup of Java, and headed out back onto the trail. This time I was solo, and misjudged a dip and a bend and slid into a stump, and dented my "baby"... :doh: Many scratches, a few dents, and a cracked windshield made for a very exhilerating weekend. It was ALL worth it, and I can't wait to do it again. (minus the damage). I have posted a few picks of the campsite.

What a great turnout! Thanks to Stone and all the volunteers and vendors for making this year's event such a success. It was impressive to see so many Cruisers of all types from all over.

The camping spot was amazing, way better than the rec site. I have no complaints that it was what we had to 'settle' on. I wish we had time to do the trails on Sunday, but we had to be back in Edmonton that night. The 20 degree drop from Hope to Edmonton was definately quite the shock!

It was great to see some familar faces as well as meet a bunch of new cruiserheads. Hopefully we will see you on the trails as well as at Land Cruiser Days 2006!

GT-Sorry to hear about the pinion. I've been there and it sucks
Petra- Sorry to hear about the 'battle scars'
Bruce-Sorry to hear about the Ford. I hear Aleros are pretty good offroad! ;)

Actually, everyone owes Stone and jfc the thanks, acolades, and pat on the back for getting this thing going, as their drive and determination is what got this thing resurected, and off the ground; Traci for working the mike and raffle, Bill for manning the booth, jfc/linsey for the t-shirts, Deny and Marcin for greeting everyone, gar for offering to trail lead (sorry the truck did not work out) and all the other Coastal Cruisers who helped during the Cruizer Daze, and others who have been talked about that were selfless in their help on the trail ride!

Yes, thanks guys, what a great weekend (sorta :) ) Greg B, sorry 'bout your truck, I was REALLY wanting to see it in action, next time. All in all it was an excellent weekend, met a few new people, seen TONS of beautiful trucks (I want them ALL). I was really amazed with the turnout, and the raffle sales, it was a BIG event and next year will only be bigger. Thanks to all the guys who drove in from out of town, your presence makes the show that much better. Good to see you again Deny.
 
I remember what Brad Reid said to me when I put the first hole in my 70, now I'll say it to you:

"Now you're one of us!"

It was a really good time and sooo nice to see so many old friends. I take great pride in the fact that all the Cruisers made it down to the lake no problem and the POS rental Ford was stuck tight with the back wheels still on the forest service road!

Mark my words... This event will become the premier Canadian Land Cruiser event in the coming years. There are lots of venders who would love to show off their stuff but stayed away when it was JP Toyota's event. I'm greatfull that they started it and hopefull that they continue to be involved but glad that the Coastal Cruisers 'own' the event now. I can think of about 20 venders who would love to put up a booth next year.

I believe it's a bunch of different parts/suppliers on the lift for the 80
