Found the first trail entrance Kevin read about! Unfortunately we were denied. Too narrow to fit through. We may have made the squeeze but the off camber would have put the top of our rigs into the rocks.

Maybe next trip just put a tire on the drivers side and ride it on thru

What is the name of that trail? beyond that point it was pretty interesting. We happened to find it while following the trail boss who well.... "Took the scenic route"

Nice! To get the angle right, it was shot from further over, the river is there, so maybe a long shot from this area?

I wonder how they got that much lift off the plateau :hhmm:

I wonder how they got that much lift off the plateau :hhmm:

IIRC, from what I heard: There was a jump ramp back from the edge, a pulley at the edge, the "car" was towed by cable from a sand dragster traveling away from the edge. All of it had to be recovered from the river, was done by helicopter, so had to be light and couldn't contaminate, so no fluids, no motor, etc. It was a light, wheeled sled with mock-up body. Everything was tied together, so it could be recovered in one piece, one of the dummies escaped and was found sometime later down stream?:hillbilly:

I knew the angle was not correct but it was all I had to work with.

I was curious when I was posting the pic and it was so long ago since I seen the movie I started doing some searching and found that pic.
