...continuing my "gnarly tree, red rocks and blue sky" theme from last year: here's a specimen from the Arch Canyon overlook ... looking at the ascent of the old highway up Comb's Ridge ... climbing the old grade between the rocks

... looking south from our exploration of Hart's Draw ... two views from Needles overlook, with the Lockhart trail meandering about. It was neat having been down there, and knowing what it's like looking up the cliffs.

Brittan makin' it look easy ... I tried a slightly different line than usual, worked really well without much rear bumper contact ... and then things started to deteriorate re breakage, so no more photos from 'Spike, fast forward to TipToe, with the FJ40 easing down the Roller Coaster

... Monument Canyon ... Candlestick Butte ... and an ominous cloud over the rocks just when JDM Norm elected to break a chunk off the road. So much for now.

As I mentioned in the "Live from CM" thread:

Another epic trip, not just because of the incredible scenery and fabulous wheeling, but mostly so because of the awesome company - thanks to everyone who went on the trails with me, it was a pleasure, and I can't wait to go again.

P.S. Well, before we go, the trucks need a little maintenance and TLC. Breakage report as follows:
K5 - blown relay for transmission cooler fan; mirror fell off windshield when I hit with the rear bumper while coming off a ledge on Golden Spike; sidewall cut in tire. And the bushings of the rear suspension have no more shoulders left.
FJ40 - frame crack at front spring hanger; broke greasable spring pin; broken ring (jewelry) on Claudia's right hand...

On Friday morning, there was some Spike carnage to be taken care of, so some of us missed or opted out of our runs. We got a late start, so ended up exploring in the Behind the Rocks area.
