More pix!:flipoff2:

Wednesday we ran through CM tech and headed out for Onion Creek, Rose Garden Hill and Top of the World. The trucks were, Carl, Jim and Matt in FJC's, Claudia FJ40, Buck, Rob and I in FZJ80's.

The trials are north of Moab off of highway 128, the drive out there is worth it alone, great scenery. Onion Creek starts out as a dirt road, a dozen or so water crossing and into the narrows, a tight box canyon that the creek flows through. Then opens up into a valley with tall ridges all around.

Boy I love Onion Ck. That is an amazing place, both scenic and geologically.

Claudia and Carl headed back to town and the rest of us went up the highway to Dewey Bridge turn off and Top of the world trail head. A view of the trucks at the top.

Some trail play, Buck, Jim, then Jim and Rob cheering Mat on, or betting on carnage, or...:D
Kevin,
Thanks for the spot on this one. Dosnt it look like Jim is 2 seconds away from diving on my rig to save me. The funny thing is that I was about 2 seconds from diving on my rig to save it. Its that whole wheel lift thing that makes me pucker. More on the rear but the front gets you goin also. I know Rob was betting on carnage.
Matt

Matt,

As much as you had your rig hopping around, I thought for sure it would have been carnage. Heck Lorna turned away and had to quit watching.

Kevin,

You take some incredible pictures.

Jim and Lorna,

Had a great time with yall as well.

I have to get excited in your club corner cause our club primarily consits of web wheelers and beach runners. Living in Houston sucks if your an outdoors person. You made the right choice Ross.

Buck

That's a bummer, Buck!:o Is it because there is no good wheeling places close, or no one wants to beat their junk?

I cant believe you admitted Ross was right! That just isn't done!:o

It was good to see you again Buck!

I know what you mean about Houston.

To answer your questions Kevin,

1. It is quite a drive to find rocks from Houston. It is all coastal plain for hundreds of miles. Plus there is very little public land in TX.

2. :flipoff2:

It is a bummer. Texas is 832 miles from top to bottom and 843 miles from side to side and 90% of the land here is privately owned. I have to drive five hours to get to my closest wheeling spot, which is a privately owned off road park. There are some great people in the club but most will never make a run farther way than the beach. The reason being most of them still think the ONLY good land cruiser is a 40 (no respect for 80's or FJ's in our club) and yet they will get beat to death if they have to drive 5 hours to wheel. Its an oxymoron. I will be our club President next year so maybe I can change opinions. Don't get me wrong, I love Texas and Houston, it would just be nice to drive an hour and be in beautiful scenery with dirt track. I read through some of yalls post about spur of the moment runs and I guess I am envious. It was also truly enjoyable for me to wheel with people who appreciate the newer trucks and understand their capabilities while in Moab.

Can I be CSC's adopted bastid step child from Texas? :D

I didn't admit Ross was right, just that he made a good decision based on lifestyle. I would never admit that in public :flipoff2:

I am not sure we need any more children, but the last I heard the mascot position was open.

:D

So, everything in Texas is BIG...including trail envy!!!:flipoff2:

You're welcome on any of my spur-o-the-moment runs Buck. The only trouble is, I may be to spur for most Tucsonans. I end up running alone alot. Either that or I smell...my guess is the latter.
