Have a lleak at the manifold. Broke a stud getting it out (40's tech). This has to be the craziest exhaust I have ever seen. Two tubes, one inside the other. This thing goes all the way down outside the frame then back under the frame and then goes to something I have yet to see in stock form.

My plan is to weld it on the inside then on the outside and get it looking like it should. What do you think.

I'm afraid no one will be able to replace this at the muffler shop and keep it looking stock.

You can see the outside is broken pretty much all the way around.

I think my exhaust is split in the same place, and I have a shear'd stud also.

Don't have an answer for ya.

P.S. Mine sounds like a boat, kinda cool, actually. AND, still passes CA smog!!!!
 
Yeah the first 4 or 5 feet of pipe on my cruiser was actually three sleeved pieces... preety sure it was factory. The "crazy" part about it was when I was trying to cut through it. Thought my sawzall blade was done... thought my angle grinder wasn't working right... then I find out I had been cutting through almost a 1/4" of steel (about half a foot from where it turns into single wall pipe). Too bad I couldn't reuse the thing for my header.

Howdy! My Piggy had it, my 85 Toy mini had it, and my 83 Nissan 280ZX had it. Must be a Japanese fetish or something. John
