I've been using the poly tank for 2 years now. Only problem was a slight smell of gas fumes with the hardtop on. Now that its been a year and a half since I have run the hardtop, I haven't worried about it.

I'm confident that if I drilled a hole or two into the cap of filler neck (outside the vehicle) and re-sealed the fuel sender with some RTV, it wouldn't leak any more fumes.

That said, I wish I had know Dan at the time, because I would have certainly just gone with another steel tank.

just going thru old threads, I have had the poly for 5 years never had a problem, with swelling sweating, smelling or anything else, I bought this bc every metal tank I had (like 4) had issues and i got tired of being onthe side of the road with a chunk of rust blocking the fuel filter,,

never had a problem with the lines or venting, or the sending unit, maybe I just do it right!!!

mine is a 78 but I hve compiled a few parts to make it right,, dont know companies change things, ,,

I have one of the early tpi chrome headers, never never had a problem with fit or finish,,,

maybe knowing Bob is a good thing!!
