brief look, it appears it may need different axles/spline type... anyone have experience with the eaton e-lockers?

That is a good deal and someone should snag them for $400 for the pair. I would, but I'm a bit tied up at the moment.
minor mods for the housing and you'll need some custom axles with an extended inner spline to fit the e-locker.

They are also designed for full floater axles and may be able to be used in a semifloat configuration, but I am not sure. These would be cool for someone who was building a FF rear axle, or someone who owns an FZJ80 and wants to add and e-locker to the rear.

You can definitely do it on a 40 front axle. PO was nice enough to install for me !

I emailed him we will see if they are still available.

Things you must have/do to run an 80 factory E-locker in a 40/60:

you must have a full float axle(all fronts, very few rears in the US)
you must notch the housing(and do a clean enough job for it to seal afterwards)
you must get a custom inner axle shaft with an extra long splined section(a couple vendors sell these)
locker control/wiring is complicated-ish(as Ed mentioned) It is not an on/off switch sort of thing.

I think that's a very fair price for those diffs, but it is a lot of hassle to fit them in a non-FZJ80-locker-axle-housing compared to using a new Harrop ELocker or ARB. You could be close to the cost of a Harrop/ARB by the time you buy the custom axle shaft and go through the pain and suffering costs of grinding the housing.

what do the e lockers go for? And are there any other mods, replacements one should do if in there?

My vote is for ARB's, especially if you already have onboard air.

Rear:
OEM E-locker $250
FF brackets: $200
Custom chromo axles: $450-$700
Spindles, hubs, rotors and bearings and seals: $200
Electrical parts: $50
Labor/Time: ?
Total: at least $1400 -ish

Front:
OEM E-locker: $250
Custom Axle shafts (with birfs) $700ish
Labor/Time:
Total: $1000?

Total: $2200-$3000 -ish

Harrop Lockers (x2): $3250 (free shipping?)
Labor to install: $400
Total: $3700 -ish

No ARB list?!?!
Is this a fair comparison?!?!
:) :) :) :) :)
He never emailed me back. I emailed him again from a non-corporate address. We will see.
I think I will save for ARB.

I e-mailed him before you did as well and haven't heard back. I will be in b-more tonight and if he gets in touch with you and feel confident I could possibly save you a trip. Sounds from above I will to go either harrop or arb for my locker....some day.

Ya I'm not really in the market but it's a good price.
I'll let you know if he contacts me.

I was thinking so...you see anything in there that can go towards rent and helping get rid of the rest?
