I have dreams about finding hoards of OEM parts.

Had one towed in that was running hot. Was told by another shop it had blown head gaskets (warped heads). Ran way too good to be eating coolant. Was an Aisin water pump and my guess the impeller was damaged during shipping and whoever installed it did not see a crack when they installed it. I’ve installed 100’s of these and this is the first time I’ve seen one break in use. Have had a few that were damaged out of the box but I check them before installation. The gasket was held to the block with at least $20 worth of Honda Bond so maybe a large chunk broke free at high rpm’s but I would assume it would just eat it and have a couple damaged vanes at most not break in two. After a new Aisin kit it was back up and running again.

That makes me glad I didn't install the questionable one I got for the gx a while back. It had a small crack in it out of the box.
