Weather not as good as the 14 day forecast but I'm still 100%

The family going depends on how much fun camping will be for them.

Will make the call later.

The chances for rain have gone consistently up, but they're still in the "iffy" range. Even if camping gets to the point it may be a hassle (all my stuff is so old, I'm wondering if it'll still shed water), there are still some alternatives (DeSoto State park has rooms, etc.), and there's still a lot to do that would interest the kids even if it rains (hiking, caves, Chattanooga, etc.). The trip route will have us not too far from more "civilized" areas that it'll be easy to change plans if we need to to suit anyone going with us........

I'm game rain or shine.
If we need to big spoon lil spoon in a mo/hotel I'm game. But since I'm truck camping anyway, I ain't getting wet.

Sorry to disappoint but Red is out on the weekend as are the kiddos. Red has a power meeting on Friday till two so she's getting left behind and Will has a basketball Jambo on Saturday so he is getting left behind and Berkley would have just been along for the ride.

I'm in 1000%. It's my birthday so I get to do what I want :D

Good deal.

Yeah, I've got a route planned out / places to go. Again, not really knowing what everyone wants to do / see , it can be changed easily. I've always been able to find plenty to do in that area.

Since Little River Canyon looks to be no more than about 20 minutes from the western terminus of the Georgia Traverse (www.georgiaoverland.com), that looks really interesting to me for at least part of a day.

Nolen, since you're going to be solo, you game for more north / east travel or you still wanting to stay around the AL/TN/GA "corner?"

This will be fun! Have we talked about food and booze? Who has the cooking stove and pans? Rest of us can provide food. I was planning to bring some skirt steak, tortilla, cheese, and eggs. Also have a couple packs of bacon to throw in.

I am going out on a limb but coffee/caffeine is a must in the AM. I can just bring packs of ice can coffee to get by for me or is anyone interested in brewing? I can ground fresh beans before leaving and bring.

Whiskey will be packed but everyone needs to pack for their own thrist.

I'm on a low-calorie diet. Essentially eat anything, as long as I stay under a certain amount. I'll prolly just bring cardboard to nimble on. On trips like this I usually bring starbucks double-shots for my morning caffeine. Of course, I'm single, so I do things as easy as possible. If ya'll wanna plan meals and junk, I'm game for that, I can contribute the plates, or cups or something.

I'm bringing a coffee maker. i would say everyone fend for themselves on food and booze. I will have the Scottle that can cook large servings. I'll probably cook steak fajitas or fish tacos one night. I also like camp breakfast and will do some sort of breakfast scramble (bacon, eggs, sausage, etc..). Assuming we can have fires, I may also do cinnamon rolls (monkey bread) in the Dutch oven one morning. If anyone wants in on tha stuff, then I'll just buy extra and you can pay me back. Nolen also has a camp stove, a camp oven and a Dutch. Wouldn't mind stopping at a cool hole in the wall restaurants along the drive for lunch (but will pack some sandwich meat too), and would not mind eating out one night of the situation presents itself.

Breakfast Saturday and Sunday......

Dinner Friday and Saturday........

Road Food for lunch???

If it is only 5-6 people this is easy.

But I am only guessing it is 5-6 people. Who knows who is lurking.

@fountainhead you are gay for not going. Same with @Bomar. Same with @ntsaint .....same with all you non going fags.

I am going to have a food cooler with some stuff packed as noted above. we can share as needed. I like the idea of dining out one night assuming I can shower before. I'll pack coffee grinds and a thermos mug. Should we haul some spare firewood? I have some oak wood. Prefer to throw it in a trailer with any one coming through. I don't see any reason why we can't burn as many fires as needed.

I can throw in on group meals or go solo. I'm flexible like that. Don't need coffee, or really breakfast much. Lunch on the road sounds great. Hell, we got Nolen with us. He is sure to find an awesome burger with an egg on it served by a young hottie in tight shorts...

I wasn't planning to put my crappy roof rack on but could. If I did I can tote a chainsaw and such..

With no showers from Friday morning on... I don't think sitting at a restaurant on Saturday evening is a very good idea. LOLcoughcoughcough

I can do whatever. Pitch in whatever. If we need to pinch a loaf theys a walmarts nearly errwhere!

As much rain has come through.... burn bans should be lifted. And wood out and about will be wet... May need some designer wood from the Lowes or the Home Depots

I would love to be going. Too close to vacation and am going to the red camp the weekend after. Wife would literally cut me. That being said I'm pissed I'm not able to go.
