Bought this one this week. It is quieter than a Red Rider BB gun with the right ammo. The cheek weld sucks, so I need to pick up some low profile rings (hoping Santa pays me a visit)

ah yeh...still a great pocket rocket...I'll bet the one this guys was using had boo-koo rounds through it...I thought it was a curious video because I had never seen a frame scored the way this one was...I probably will still buy one 'cause I would never shoot that many rounds from inside my pocket....

sorry. i was wowing the trolling, not the lcr video.

I just ordered a p226. It'll be my first sig. But, my dad has his from his navy days. Says its a hell of a pistol.
My wife wants one of those 'bodyguard' revolvers. But, I think that's mainly because the guy teaching her shooting class kind of sold them on the idea of its size, reliability and the built in laser.
FYI, here in meridian is a new indoor shooting range and you/she can shoot every model you listed. It's modern outfitters on hwy 39n.

Thanks for the information. My parents live in Destin and there is a shooting range in Crestview they are going to go to so they can shoot a few of the pistols.

The size difference between the 239/225 and the 228/229 is negligible, so i'd go with the 228 or 229. In my opinion, an old W. German 228 is about the finest handgun ever made.

Just reading through the thread... I have a Sig P228 9mm.... its probably 92 vintage or so (I think)...13 rd magazine. Its a very well made weapon with no manual safety (which I like). Once a round is chambered you are ready to go.

I would not recommend a semi-auto pistol like this to anyone who is not comfortable with this type of weapon and certainly understands its function.

I would like to get a Sig 229 in Sig 357, but that will have to wait on $$.

I don't see how carrying a 228/229/whatever in condition 2 is any different then carrying a revolver. The sig has a 12lb double action trigger pull.

not a problem to me but some people get all wound up about no manual safety.... other than that its a semi-auto pistol.

I understand that a revolver has some similar characteristics in regard to a "chambered round"...

Some folks just don't catch on to the proper operation of a semi-auto pistol and therefore it would not be a good defense weapon for their use....

Hell yeah.....that's awesome. can you imagine if DC tried to invade down here to enforce a very strict gun law?!!
