Cots - any recommendations of currently available cots?

I probably would have scoffed at the idea of sleeping on a cot had I not slept on one for 8 months in Bosnia. Now I'm shopping for one and seeing a ton of models. Cabelas and BassPro will be having a lot of sales. I can't shop in person cuz I'm in a small town, so will be an internet order. I will be using it inside my large 8 person tent.

Any recommendations?

U.S. Military surplus. Picked up a couple about 13 years ago for 10 bucks apeice. Use them about 50 nights a year. I added a thick sleeping pad to mine a few years a go . Helps a little.

Thanks guys. I'm stuck between the two recommended ones from Cabelas. Their guide series stuff is usually good, but the 'Outfiter XL' is even bigger (and costs more). Either will probably do me fine. My challenge is actually getting out and using the gear.

I've got a Roll-a-Cot. Has held up well to LOTS of use. I like the mesh fabric for breath-ability in summer time. In colder weather I throw a pad on top.

I have this one and highly recommend it. I'm a big guy and like to move around in my sleep. Easy to put up and break down. Downfall is that it only has a nylon bag to haul it around in. Honestly, I sleep better at camp than at home. The kit comes with the pad and cot tree. Both are essential for me.

Anonther nice one. One of my elk camp partners has one. A little harder to set up. but rock solid once it is. Slightly smaller than the Outfitter XL, but just as nice if you can handle a little reduction in size.

EITHER is well worth the money.

I also have the roll-a-cot and highly recommend it. If space and weight saving is important to you, take a look at it. It folds up pretty small and only weighs 10 lbs.

Ditto on the Roll-a-Cot, I've got two. They're light, take up minimal space, easy to set-up and take down, pack into a nice little self contained bundle...I've also got one of their roll-a-tables, no issues with any of them.

I just bought 2 different Texsports off eBay for about $29 each plus shipping. 2 different sites. Search and you will find hundreds to choose from.

One was std size, the other the XL. Only bought them to use on our trip to OK in the hotel since we could only get a single king bed. The kids slept in them. I used one one night. Worked great. Plan to use them camping for along time.

Big Grizzly cot

I like the big grizzly cot from cabelas. I think they're also called big cots. Somewhat of a pain to set up but really not too bad & very comfy. In grad school, I spent a lot of time sleeping in deserts with just a big cot next to the truck.

I have this one. Last time i used it rain, TLCA trail ride in AR.. By the head and feet it holes water like a swimming pool, then the roof fall in not good when its heavy rain!! You will get little wet. For sleep in with two people badass, like it. Put it up in five minutes.

I should have one of these this week. (on order) I have been using a air matress but it gets kinda annoying cause it takes up so much room and isn't that stable to set on when changing or just hanging out in a rain storm.

Enjoy! Once you've used this one, you'll never want anything else. I roll the mattress tightly and store it in a large duffel bag, FWIW.

You should check this place out i've bought a tent from them and they also have cots also and take a look at OZtent the have a really nice cot..
