I can't find what is this metal cap and if it needs to be replaced? it looks new in the picture.

I think it's a frost bung. If the motor has water in it and it freezes, that it supposed to burst before the block cracks.

I live in a place that gets ass cold for 5 months per year. I am not messing with mine.

I found a pin hole leak in top of my exchanger.... wonder if there is coolant cavitation there.
Seeping yesterday, today a gusher.
